Now a days, we are facing difficulties in our society for our polluted air, and we are the reason for damaging our eco-system. People are not concerning about their health and environment, they are contaminate their environment of using unusual vehicle, as a result our eco-system is destroying gradually. Secondly we are not using dustbin as well as not recycling our food and other elements which could damage our eco-system, resulting in, our environment is constantly destroying.
Some other individuals have another conviction, they argues that, cutting trees is the main reason here, nowadays, people are cutting down their trees not only making home but, many other purpose, however, few people are misusing our trees and they are cutting our trees, it might be a solid reason for damaging our eco-system, such as many people are cutting down our forest, consequently, it might be a major issues in our future. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response attempts to address the prompt by discussing environmental problems, specifically contrasting plant loss with man-made issues such as pollution and deforestation. However, the connection to the specific prompt regarding the loss of plant and animal species versus other environmental problems is somewhat confused, particularly in the introduction where the wording is convoluted ("the reason of main environmental issue is losing several aspects of plants"). While a personal position is stated—that human activity is the main driver—the ideas remain underdeveloped, overly generalised, and repetitive throughout the body paragraphs. The arguments lack specific, well-supported examples, relying instead on broad generalisations about pollution and cutting trees. Consequently, the response aligns best with a Band 5 descriptor, as it addresses the task only partially and the ideas are limited and lack clear extension.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The text is organised into paragraphs with a clear attempt at an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the overall progression is heavily disrupted by poor sentence construction, comma splices, and a lack of smooth cohesive devices. Phrases such as "Secondly we are not using dustbin as well as not recycling" and repetitive concluding remarks ("resulting in, our environment is constantly destroying") show inadequate and mechanical cohesion. Referencing is frequently unclear, and the mechanical repetition of ideas across paragraphs impedes a clear logical flow. Paragraphing is present, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs is weak. These features place the response firmly at Band 4, as information and ideas are not arranged with sufficient coherence and progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
The student demonstrates a basic and repetitive vocabulary throughout the essay. Words such as "environment," "eco-system," "destroying," and "cutting" are repeated excessively with very little variation. There are frequent word choice and collocation errors, such as "losing several aspects of plants" instead of species loss, "people are not concerning" instead of concerned, and "contaminate their environment of using unusual vehicle" instead of by using. Attempts to use less common vocabulary are largely inaccurate or unnatural. Because the vocabulary is basic, repetitive, and contains errors that occasionally strain the reader's understanding, the lexical resource corresponds to Band 4.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited, and control over basic structures is weak. The essay is dominated by run-on sentences and severe comma splices, such as "Some individuals argue that, the reason of main environmental issue is losing several aspects of plants, a different perspective posits that, they believe there have other more effective reason..." There is a near-absence of error-free sentences, with frequent issues involving verb tenses, prepositions, subject-verb agreement, and clause structures (e.g., "they argues that," "they are contaminate," "on of then"). These pervasive errors frequently impede communication and distort meaning, matching the criteria for Band 4.
