Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, it is a widely held view amoung different individuals that the loss of some species and animals is a major environmental challenge of the present time. While opposition held a distinct view that there are so many other essential environmental obstacles rather than just plants and animals. In this essay, I will discuss both perspectives before presenting my own opinion.

On the one hand, an increasing number of people hold a veiw that due to environmental issues, they loss many plant species and animals in forest. To elaborate further, they argue that continuously crushing forest plants can cause to much difficulties for some types of plant species, as they live in trees and mostly survive in forest. Secondly, they believe that due to environmental damage our animals are also badly effected. For instance, various birds and animals are we lost due to the current environment problems.

On the other hand, a growing number of individuals argue that there are more vital problems regarding to environment. First of all, climate change which significantly cause our environment. Due to climate change, today all the humans face difficulties regarding to flood which come every year in every country. To cite an example, recently Pakistan was very badly effected to the sudden coming attraction of flood in the Bunner district. Secondly, continuously releasing to carbon emmissions gas in the air can populate the air and can cause health-related problems.

In my point of view, detrimental environmental is not only effect animals and plants species in forest but it also challengeable for a typical survival of the humans and insects. loss of wildlife, forest, and healthy life are considerable porspectives of environmental obstacles. Furthermore, a vast of amount of carbon dioxide from industries can also effect our normal life.

In conclusion, some people believe that animal and plant species are especially effected by environmental problems due to regular cutting of plants, while critics argue that there are numerous other factors that is effected by bad environment such as climate change and emmission of carbon gases. Consequently, in my view forest, wildlife and health were bad effected due to detrimental evnironment challenges.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that the loss of specific species is the main environmental problem, and that other issues are more important—while also presenting an opinion in the conclusion and body paragraphs. However, some ideas are under-developed or lack clarity. For instance, the arguments regarding plant and animal loss in the second paragraph rely on repetitive and vague assertions, such as 'they loss many plant species and animals in forest,' without fully explaining the underlying mechanisms. The writer's position is discernible, but the support for each view tends to be limited and lacks well-elaborated examples, which prevents the response from achieving a higher level of development.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear structural framework, including an introduction, body paragraphs addressing each viewpoint, and a concluding summary. Paragraphing is used sufficiently to separate distinct ideas. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical and faulty. Transitional phrases and cohesive devices are occasionally over-used or awkwardly applied, such as the repetitive use of 'First of all,' 'Secondly,' and 'On the other hand.' Referencing is also not always clear, with pronouns like 'they' and 'which' occasionally creating ambiguity regarding what noun phrases they refer to, leading to a progression that feels halting at times.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses a limited vocabulary range that is minimally adequate for the task. There are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. Examples of lexical inaccuracies include spelling mistakes such as 'amoung' and 'veiw,' as well as awkward phrasing like 'badly effected,' 'sudden coming attraction of flood,' and 'detrimental environmental is not only effect.' The writer attempts less common vocabulary, such as 'carbon emissions' and 'perspective,' but these attempts are frequently marred by collocation and morphological errors, restricting the overall precision of the vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on basic patterns alongside attempts at complex sentences that are frequently faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and word patterns inside grammatical structures. For example, sentences such as 'While opposition held a distinct view that...' lack a main clause, and expressions like 'cause to much difficulties' and 'regarding to environment' display persistent prepositional and structural errors. While the meaning can generally be parsed, the frequency of grammatical slips causes noticeable difficulty for the reader throughout the text.
