Student answer (Band 5.5)
Several individuals believe that the main environmental issue of our time is the loss of specific species of plants and animals. Others think that there are more crucial environmental problems. In my view, there are a lot of other environmental problems.
On the one hand, many citizens say that the most important problems, nowadays is lack of particular species. A lot of people are cutting trees that can bad impact on our environment. At present, many industries are cutting plants to innovate some things news as well as some people are deforestation to clean the area and the can made a building. Furthermore, the another environmental issues is hunting of animals. Hunters are hunting those animals they are living less in the environment. For instance, loin, tiger and other those animals they are less amount in the forest, so they home are destroy so they cannot live a long life without home.
On the other hand, some people's perspective that the main environmental problem is pollution. Nowadays, many industries are release those gas that have bad impact on environment. Moreover, car and other vehicles are also effect on environment because when the cars are more and more so the air pollution are destroy and also climate change. In addition, the another environmental issues is wasting of plastic because many people are waste a lot of plastic and fire to this, so the bad impact on air. For example, industries can reduce gas so it can effect on climate change. At the results, lack of rainfall and diseases.
In conclusion, I believe the environmental have a lot of other problems instead of particular species because nowadays, technology and industries innovate new things, so it can reduces bad gas it is effect on climate change.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views by discussing species loss and then pollution, and your conclusion gives a position that other environmental problems are more important. This covers the main parts of the prompt, but the position is not consistently clear: the opening says there are “a lot of other environmental problems,” while the first body paragraph calls species loss the most important problem. The supporting ideas are relevant but under-developed. For example, you mention deforestation and hunting, but do not explain clearly how these cause species decline or why pollution is more serious overall. The final point about technology and industries reducing gas is also unclear and does not fully support your opinion. Develop each main claim with a clear explanation and a specific, relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and several ideas are joined mechanically with “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “In addition.” The example about industries reducing gas appears after a paragraph about pollution but does not clearly connect to the preceding point. References such as “this” in “fire to this” are also unclear. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main claim, explain it, and then give an example that directly supports it; use linking phrases only where they show a genuine relationship.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “deforestation,” “hunting,” “pollution,” “climate change,” and “plastic,” so the reader can identify the environmental issues you intend to discuss. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to interpret. For instance, “innovate some things news” does not express the intended idea clearly, and “their home are destroy” is not a natural way to describe habitat loss. Repetition of “bad impact” and “environmental issues” also limits precision. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check how words combine in context, such as “damage habitats,” “release harmful gases,” and “contribute to air pollution.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, using connectors such as “because,” “so,” and “when.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, with frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “many industries are release,” “the most important problems… is,” and “the air pollution are destroy.” These errors can make the intended relationships between causes and effects difficult to follow. There are also problems with sentence boundaries and punctuation, as in “problems, nowadays.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then extend them with one clear subordinate clause. Check verb forms and agreement in each sentence before adding further ideas.
