Student answer (Band 5.0)
Enviromental issue is the main concern in today world beacuse it damages the living standards of human. Some people believe that it is beacuse the loss of particular animals and plants. In contrast, numerous people believe that the main issue is environmental problems. In my opinion, the main issue is the environmental problems beacuse it destroys the human, plants and animals.
Firstly, a large number of individuals believe that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals because of the human activities. For example, one of the main reason is cutting down the tress that effects the animals and also plants. People use herbs in the medcinies and also in making the furtniture from the woods. A large number of people still do the huntings of rare species that effects the animals lives and they become endangered. In contrast, some takes the animals to the zoo which also damage the animals.
Secondly, numerous people believe that the environemental problems are more important beacuse it demolish the whole world. For examole, industrial pollution is the main reason for the environemental issue the smog from the factroies cause many disease such as problem in breathing, coughing and also irritation in the eyes. The second problem is traffic problem and the noise pollution also ruin environment. For example, tarffic problems and noise from the vehicles pollute the whole community. In addition to this, climate changes is the main threat to the whole world which cause the flooding in many ares that impact animals, plants and also the human.
In conclusion, the government should provide appropriate regulations for controlling the
environmental issues beacuse in the future it is the main threat to the whole world. As the result, human and the governmet need to protect the environment and perform actions against those who pollute the environment and damage the plants and animals.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and state your opinion: the first body paragraph focuses on species loss, while the second covers pollution, traffic and climate change. This is relevant to the question, and examples such as habitat destruction and factory smog help illustrate your points. However, the position is not fully clear because you contrast species loss with “environmental problems,” even though species loss is itself an environmental problem. Your own view that broader environmental problems are more important is stated, but the reasons for ranking them above species loss are not developed. Some examples, such as taking animals to zoos, are mentioned without explaining their significance. Develop the comparison and explain how your examples support your opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting the views, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the broad organisation easy to follow. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first paragraph moves from tree cutting to medicinal herbs, furniture, hunting and zoos without showing how each point connects. The contrast between the two views is also not consistently signalled, and repeated use of “For example” and “In addition to this” makes cohesion mechanical. Some references, such as “it” in “it demolish the whole world,” are unclear. Group related causes and effects, and use linking phrases that show the precise relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “endangered,” “industrial pollution,” “smog,” “noise pollution” and “climate changes,” so the reader can identify the environmental issues you mean. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “main issue,” “environmental problems” and “whole world.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “Enviromental,” “beacuse,” “medcinies” and “governmet,” which reduce accuracy. Some word choices and collocations are awkward or imprecise, such as “do the huntings,” “damage the animals lives” and “ruin environment.” Build a wider set of accurate phrases for causes, impacts and solutions, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “which” and “that,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently. For example, “it demolish” needs subject–verb agreement, while “climate changes … which cause” has an agreement problem. Articles and plurals are also inconsistent, as in “one of the main reason” and “the animals lives.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation need attention in “industrial pollution is the main reason … the smog from the factroies cause many disease,” where separate ideas run together. Practise accurate agreement, articles and clause punctuation, then proofread each sentence to ensure its parts connect grammatically.
