Student answer (Band 4.5)

The society believes that the main cause of Environmental crises in recent years is loss of species of plants and animals, meanwhile another category defines that they're more important Environmental problems Environmental problems can be defined or refers to an unwanted occurrence in the environment that lead damages in the ecosystem

Loss of biodiversity in the environment can lead to environmental problems which are uncertain in population growth, moreover humans beings can contribute to this ie deforestation, illegal using of explosive weapons. This simply implies that plants helps in enriching the soil, protecting the land and can also prevent erosion, while the animals such as sheep, goat and chickens waste products can serves as manure for agricultural purposes. plants helps in regulating the atmosphere, ozone layer etc .in absense of these, natural forces can replenish the environment.Animals can serves as tools in agricultural practices such animal are camel for means of transportation, bulls helps in making nursery beds or ridges.Animals such as cats and dog can be useful in security reasons.

Meanwhile other categories of humans belives that they are more important of environmental problems other than loss of species of plants and animals .meanwhile i might respect their option of believing so.

In conclusion i strongly affirm that when it comes to environment, plants, animals (mammals and non-mammals) are considered first due to its contribution to prevent environmental problems and they can helps in boosting economy, plants can serves as raw materials and while animals can be too .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You attempt to discuss the importance of species loss and state your view in the conclusion, arguing that plants and animals help prevent environmental problems and support the economy. However, the task is addressed only minimally: the opposing view is mentioned as “there are more important Environmental problems,” but no such problems are identified or explained. The discussion of biodiversity is also difficult to follow and does not clearly explain how species loss creates the environmental consequences described. Your examples about manure, transport and security are relevant to the value of animals, but they do not fully support the central comparison. The response is four words below the required minimum. To improve, explain at least one alternative environmental threat, such as climate change or pollution, and develop a clear comparison before giving your opinion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an opening, a paragraph about species, a paragraph introducing the other view, and a conclusion. However, ideas are not arranged coherently enough to make the argument easy to follow. The opening runs several ideas together, and the paragraph beginning “Loss of biodiversity” shifts from population growth to human activities, plant functions and animal uses without clear links. The opposing view receives only a brief, disconnected sentence, so the discussion does not progress logically. Connectors such as “moreover” and “Meanwhile” are used, but they do not clarify the relationships between ideas and are sometimes repeated. Use separate paragraphs for each view, give each paragraph one main point, and use clear topic sentences and references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “biodiversity,” “deforestation,” “ecosystem,” “erosion” and “raw materials,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “uncertain in population growth,” “illegal using of explosive weapons,” and “in security reasons.” Repetition of “environmental problems,” “plants” and “animals” also limits precision. Capitalisation is inconsistent, as in “Environmental crises,” and some expressions appear to be chosen without a clear meaning in context. Build a more precise set of terms for environmental threats and consequences, and check whether each phrase is natural in English. This would make your ideas easier to understand and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts some longer sentences and uses clauses with “while” and “which,” but control is weak and errors frequently make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. For example, “Environmental problems can be defined or refers to” combines incompatible verb forms, while “plants helps” and “animals … waste products can serves” show repeated subject–verb agreement problems. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable: the opening contains several ideas joined without a clear full stop, and spacing around commas and full stops is inconsistent. Articles, plurals and verb forms also need attention. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, checking that each subject matches its verb, then combine ideas using accurate subordinate clauses and punctuation.
