Student answer (Band 6.0)

As the change in the enviromental aspects of the world, there has been rising problem regarding the loss for particular species of plants and animals. However, this issue is only the one of the big aspect, not the only important one. There are various other major factors that need to be consider for enviromental problems happening in current generation.

With the time, many plants and animals are being instinct in the nature. The major cause of this is due to human invasion upon them for their beneifits. For example: Endangered animals-one-horned rhinos are hunted by poachers for their horn, skins, and other applications, reuslted into loss of them in the nature. So, this can be taken as the environmental problem happening, that need to be consider.

Despite the loss of species of plants and animals can be consider as the environmental problem of today, there are many other major problems which are more important such as pollutions of resources like water, land, air, rapid deforestation as well as climate change. These factors are the majors as their outcome directly impact upon the world . For instances: There was huge glacier flood which occured in the Nepal, due to climate change, marking it as important enviromental problems happenning currently. Therefore, such activities needs to be monitored and consider as the main enviromental problems.

In conclusion, loss of particulars species of plants and animals need to be listed as environmental problem but not taken as most concern problem, as they can be regenerated within lab from their DNA. Therefore, other important enviromental problems needs to be consider first and main for making the world suitable to live in.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear overall position: species loss is serious, but you consider pollution, deforestation and climate change more important. The examples of rhino poaching and a glacier flood in Nepal are relevant and help illustrate the discussion. However, the two sides are not developed equally: the first body paragraph mainly describes poaching, while the second lists several problems without explaining in detail how they affect people or ecosystems. The claim that species can be regenerated in a laboratory from DNA is also too broad and needs qualification or support. To strengthen the response, explain why the other environmental problems have wider or more immediate consequences, and develop each example more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from species loss to other environmental threats is easy to follow, and signposts such as “However,” “Despite,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This already gives the essay a coherent arrangement. Some connections are nevertheless mechanical or unclear: “So, this can be taken as the environmental problem” repeats the point rather than advancing it, and “Despite” does not introduce a complete contrast smoothly. The conclusion also moves abruptly to laboratory regeneration. Use referencing and transitions more precisely, and make each paragraph’s final sentence lead naturally to the next idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-specific vocabulary, including “endangered,” “poachers,” “deforestation,” “climate change,” and “DNA,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or inaccurate word choices and collocations. Examples include “loss for particular species,” “being instinct in the nature,” “pollutions of resources,” and “the majors”; these make some phrases difficult to interpret. Spelling errors such as “enviromental,” “beneifits,” and “reuslted” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common environmental collocations as complete phrases, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would let you explain the scale and consequences of each problem without relying on general terms such as “important” and “problem.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple statements and attempts at more complex structures, including “Despite the loss of species … there are many other major problems” and the cause-and-effect clause beginning “due to climate change.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain in sentence construction, agreement, articles and verb forms. For example, “there has been rising problem” needs an article, “need to be consider” has an incorrect passive form, and “such activities needs” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “Despite the loss…” is also not formed correctly for the intended contrast. Practise accurate passive constructions and agreement, then proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly linked structure.
