Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You introduce the topic and mention air pollution as an environmental problem, but the response only minimally addresses the question. The first view—the loss of particular plant and animal species—is not explained or supported, and the example about a person with a breathing problem shifts attention to human health rather than showing why species loss matters. The second view is listed through several types of pollution, but these are not compared with species loss or developed with relevant reasons and examples. Your stated position, that other problems matter more, is present but not clearly justified. The response is also 82 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to discuss both views adequately. Develop each side and explain your own judgement with specific support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introduction is followed by paragraphs beginning “To analyze the statement” and “On the other hand.” These markers help signal a change in focus, and the reader can identify that you intend to discuss different environmental concerns. However, the progression is limited: the first body paragraph moves from species loss to an individual’s lung problem without a clear link, while the final paragraph lists pollution types but does not explain their relationship to the argument. The essay also ends without a concluding paragraph that restates your position. Use one paragraph for each view, connect each example explicitly to its point, and finish with a concise conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “air pollution,” “noise pollution,” “water” and “land pollution,” so the general subject is recognisable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “advocate” and “contributes.” However, the range is limited and several choices or word forms are inaccurate or unnatural, including “lose of particular inhabitants,” “absence of species,” “advocators,” and “social status problem.” These expressions sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Aim for precise environmental terms, such as “loss of biodiversity” and “species extinction,” and check collocations before using them. Repeating “problem” and “pollution” also limits variety; use relevant alternatives only when they accurately express your meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including “For instance, a person has lungs problem and any breath related disease, in this case just the absence of species is not main problem.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but the sentence is difficult to follow because its clauses are joined without clear grammatical control. Errors also occur in articles and sentence construction, as in “there are lot more” and “is not main problem.” Capitalisation and punctuation need attention, particularly the lowercase “i” and the comma splice in the example sentence. The range remains limited, and errors in the attempted complex structures can obscure meaning. Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then combine them using clear conjunctions and correct punctuation.
