Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

it is argued that loss of particular species of plant and animals are main envioronmental problem while some say there are other enviormental problem.

On the one hand, the loss of some important species are the real problem for us ,as many medicen are made from some pericous plant that found very rare.also there are some import animals that play very important role in our biodiversity

for example bee is the best example of it. Now we dont see to many bee as we saw in past . It make pollination in plantys which are very esntial for agriculture. some rare plant where the some important medicans are made from it due to enviormental issue we are lossing a huge amount of rare and essintial palnt and animals. people are concerned about endange species .

On the other hand, some people think enviormental problem is biggest thread to us like climate change is the best example of it. Every year we saw thre effects of climate change like wate of river are rising that effect the nearby area where people are living. flood landsliding due to heavy rain .Air pollution are one of the main reason causes enviormental problems.Due airpollution some sensitive people even can not walk outside because of the qulaity of the air become low that effect the lungs of a person .In southasia , air pollution like somge is one of the biggest problem at there .

In conclusion i would say loss of some essntial species of plant and animals should be protected and goverment should make strick law fot =r them but i think climate change is the biggest envirmental problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear opinion in the conclusion: you recognise species loss as a serious concern but judge climate change to be the greater problem. The examples of bees and pollination, medicinal plants, flooding and air pollution are relevant and help explain why these issues matter. However, the discussion is uneven: the species-loss argument includes several related points, while the effects of climate change and air pollution are listed more than explained. Some claims, such as river waters rising and affecting nearby communities, would be stronger with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a specific example. Develop each side to a similar depth and make the comparison behind your final judgement more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the two positions easy to identify. Within paragraphs, however, ideas sometimes run together, and links can feel mechanical or unclear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from medicines to biodiversity, bees, pollination and rare plants without clearly showing how each point connects. The second also shifts quickly from climate change to flooding and then air pollution. Use shorter, clearly focused paragraphs or topic sentences, and add precise links that explain relationships between examples rather than simply listing them.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “biodiversity,” “pollination,” “climate change,” “air pollution” and “endangered species,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some attempt to use more specific language, such as describing bees’ role in agriculture. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “medicen,” “pericous,” “thread” and “somge” appear to be intended as “medicine,” “precious,” “threat” and “smog.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “important animals” and “the quality of the air become low.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common environmental collocations, such as “species are threatened” and “air quality deteriorates.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason introduced by “as” and examples introduced by “for example.” The main ideas are generally recoverable, but grammatical control is inconsistent. Subject–verb agreement is a recurring issue: “the loss … are” and “Air pollution are” should use singular verbs. There are also problems with articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, as in “bee is the best example of it” and the run-on sequence “flood landsliding due to heavy rain.” Tense and clause structure need attention in “It make pollination” and “that effect the lungs.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then connect them with subordinate clauses and punctuation.
