Student answer (Band 4.5)
Some people believe that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental problems.
firstly I think the environmental problem is one of the main problem now a days. Environmental problem loss the particular species of plants and animals. Most of vehicles can produce smoke which one of the maain problem that can cause the environmental problem and also they can affect the human life. Which is very poinous and also affect the plants and animals. Most of the industries that have toxic waste can put into the pond lakes and rivers that xcan affecdt the aquatic life because they have a toxic materials strqaight they can affect the aquatic life in future the government should not take actions so the preciuos aquatic can be finish.
The second main reasons is people can also cutting the tree to make the building that is main the reason they can affect the plants. Therefore plants can give the oxygen to people plants is very important for the human life. A healthly tree can give the oxygen to 21 people.
The third reason is acidic rain which can also affect the spiecs therefore the first rain is acidic rain due to most of pollutions harmfull smoke which can directly affect the species of plants and animals.
Some people believe that it is more important evnironmental problems. Ithink is limted importants due to increase oof populations people also cut the plants to make the homes. And govenment can also make the roads for the faculity of the human to make th goods roads.
In my opinion the govenment can take a actions and also send a notics to industries and stop through a wastes into the ponds lake and rivers. government can also make small seminars for the guidenace of the people about the environmental problems

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You refer to both views and give an opinion, so the response is relevant to the question. The discussion of species loss includes examples such as toxic waste affecting aquatic life, tree cutting, and acidic rain. However, the second view—that other environmental problems are more important—is not clearly explained or compared with species loss. Your opinion is also difficult to identify consistently: you call species loss a main problem, then describe other environmental problems as having “limited importance,” without clarifying which issue you consider most serious or why. Several points, including the claim about a tree providing oxygen to 21 people, are asserted rather than explained. Develop both sides more directly and support your position with clear reasoning and relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has separate paragraphs and uses basic signposting such as “firstly,” “the second main reasons,” and “in my opinion,” which gives the reader some sense of structure. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the first three paragraphs list environmental causes without clearly linking them to the two views in the question. Connections between sentences are often unclear, and some ideas run together—for example, the discussion of industrial waste, aquatic life, and government action. The final paragraph introduces possible solutions rather than clearly concluding the comparison and restating your view. Organise the essay around the two positions, use each paragraph to develop one main point, and make references and transitions explicit rather than relying mainly on sequence markers.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “toxic waste,” “aquatic life,” “acidic rain,” and “species,” which helps communicate the environmental subject. However, the range is basic and repetitive, with frequent imprecise or incorrect word choices that sometimes make meaning hard to follow. Phrases such as “the environmental problem loss the particular species” and “limited importants” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors, including “poinous,” “spiecs,” and “evnironmental,” also reduce clarity. Aim to learn accurate collocations and forms, such as “loss of species,” “pollutants harm wildlife,” and “environmental concerns.” Proofread spelling and choose precise terms instead of repeating “problem” and “affect.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas using clauses with “which,” “because,” and “therefore,” and you include both simple statements and longer sentences. However, sentence structures are very limited overall, and errors are frequent enough to make several sentences difficult to understand. For example, “Most of vehicles can produce smoke which one of the…” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “plants can give the oxygen to people plants is very important” joins separate ideas without correct punctuation or a linking structure. There are also recurring problems with articles, agreement, and verb forms, as in “people can also cutting the tree.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled subordinate clauses and check sentence boundaries, subject–verb agreement, and articles.
