Student answer (Band 5.0)
There are lot of issues are created nowadays related to environment. It is beleived by some individuals that the major environmental problems of these times is the extinction of certain species of animals and plants. While others argue that there are more important environmental problems. This essay will discuss both views and my personal opinion.
On the one hand loss of some particular species of animals and plants have a negative effect in ecosystem. First of all vanished of certain species of plants and animals effect on food chain very badly for example if one particular specie depend on other animal or plant if that plant vanished so how they survive therefore in this way it also contribute to extinct other plant and animal. Secondly, it also effect on overpopulation of one type of species.
On the other hand there are a lot of other environment issues. Firstly, air pollution is very major problem of present time it causes difficulty to take oxygen for human as well as other creatures. Furthermore, air pollution also causes some harmful diseases and health related problems such as damage to lungs. Secondly, plastic is very large problem nowadays it have a negative effect to all living things and also effect to soil and causes some harmful diseases like cancer and tumer etc.
In conclusion, there are lot of problems at present related to environment such as air pollution and nplastic but extinction of animal and plant

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both views by discussing species loss and then air pollution and plastic, and you state that extinction affects ecosystems. However, the response does not fully complete the task: the conclusion is unfinished (“but extinction of animal and plant”), so your own opinion is not clearly given. The supporting ideas are also brief. For example, the food-chain point is relevant, but the explanation is difficult to follow and lacks a specific example; the claims about pollution and disease are asserted rather than developed. The response is also 8 words below the required minimum. To strengthen the answer, finish with a clear judgement about which problem is more serious and explain each main point with a concrete example and its consequences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting the opposing views, and an attempted conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the change in viewpoint, while “Firstly” and “Secondly” make the points easy to locate. However, progression within sentences is sometimes unclear, particularly in the food-chain explanation (“if that plant vanished so how they survive”). The conclusion stops before completing the contrast, leaving the essay without a clear final resolution. Some linking phrases are also used mechanically rather than showing the precise relationship between ideas. Use clearer cause-and-effect links, ensure each example follows logically from its claim, and write a complete concluding paragraph that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main areas of discussion, including “ecosystem,” “food chain,” “air pollution,” and “plastic.” These terms show awareness of the subject, but the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “vanished” where you mean the disappearance or extinction of species, “overpopulation” for an increase in one species’ numbers, and “nplastic,” which appears to be a typing error. Spelling errors such as “beleived,” “specie,” and “tumer” are also noticeable. Build a more precise environmental vocabulary and check spelling and word forms; this will help you express the consequences of each problem more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a conditional explanation of how species depend on one another. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. For example, “There are lot of issues are created” combines incompatible structures, while “the major environmental problems … is” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “it have a negative effect,” the verb does not agree with its subject, and several sentences omit articles or use unclear clause structures. The final sentence is incomplete. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses using clear punctuation. Pay particular attention to agreement, articles, and completing each sentence.
