Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some, people think that the main environmental problem of our time is decline of particular species of plants and wildlife.rather then some other peoples says there are many other factors are more significant to environmental problems.i bilieved that both factors plays important roles in the environmental problems and lead to our envirement toward pollution.

On the first hand, the lose of particular species of plants and animals are big problem of environmental problems.basicallly plant released the oxygen for breathing and other photosynthetic process.without oxygen the human being cannot survive in this planet.secondly the all plant prepare their food with the help of photosynthetic process and they need oxygen and sunlight.some small ,microorganisms play role in the productions and growth of some plants.

On the other hand, there are some other factors are more important that lead to our environmental problems.like a huge traffic travel on the roadside and spread a high amount of smoke in the environment.this poisness smoke make some health problem like lungs are most effect.the other factors like there are many industries are developed in recent years that released a high amount of dirty water and dangerous chemicals that are very harmful for us.these chemicals destroyed our agriculture land and lead to lose of fertility of soil.

In my opinion, both the factors are responsibles to create a envireonmental problems like the shortage of plants and animals species .and the other factor smoke of automobiles and chemicals of industries also lead to facing these problems.

In conclusion, the decline in the plant species and animals also lead to environmental problemsa and secondly the people who think there are many other factors make environmental problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views by discussing species loss and other environmental pressures, and you state that both contribute to environmental problems. The examples of vehicle emissions and industrial waste are relevant, as is your point that plants support life. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the explanation of species loss focuses mainly on oxygen and photosynthesis, while the second view lists pollution effects without explaining their wider significance or comparing the two views. Your position is present, but “both factors” is repeated without clarifying which you consider more important or why. Develop each view with a specific example and make your own judgement more explicit and consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, an opinion paragraph and a conclusion. “On the first hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast, and the reader can generally follow the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is often weak: several claims are placed together without clear links, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. Some linking phrases are awkward or repetitive, and sentence boundaries are unclear in places, such as the transition from the opening claim to “rather then some other peoples says.” Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example to the point it supports, and make the conclusion summarise your comparison.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant environmental vocabulary, including “species,” “photosynthetic process,” “industries,” “chemicals,” and “fertility of soil.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general topic. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “environmental problems,” “factors,” and “lead to.” There are also frequent spelling and word-choice problems, such as “lose” for “loss,” “poissness smoke,” “envirement,” and “released” where “release” is needed. Some collocations are unnatural, including “huge traffic travel” and “dirty water.” Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check spelling and word forms so your meaning is easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to express reasons and consequences, and there are some longer sentence forms, for example the sentence about industrial chemicals damaging agricultural land. However, sentence structures are limited and many attempts at complex sentences are faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in “both factors plays” and “industries are developed … that released”; articles and plurals are also often missing or incorrect. Several sentences are fragments or run together, such as “On the first hand, the lose … are big problem of environmental problems.basicallly plant released…” Punctuation and capitalisation make these boundaries harder to follow. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clear clauses using “because,” “which,” or “as a result.”
