Student answer (Band 4.5)
Nowadays, most people thing the main environmental problem in our time was is the loss of particular species of plants and animals while some people say that there are more other environmental problem and this has become widely debated topic around the world. While some people think that this is a good idea and other think that it can cause problem. In my opinion the advantages of this are greater than the disadvantages and i will discuss both sides below.
On one hand, some people think that this is not a good idea. The main reason for this belief was that the more environmental problems are not that important than the loss of plants and animals. Because of this a number of people feel worried about the effects it may have on society and family life.this is why some people do not support this idea in thier daily lives.
On the other hand, Many people including my self beleive that this is very beneficial. I personally support this view because the main environmental problem was the loss of particular plants and animals we have to reproduce plants which is possible for us which is beneficial for us in improving our environment. For example , many people in different countries have already benefited from this in a positive way. This shows that this idea is more useful and practical for people in modern life today.
in conclusion, Although both views have some truth. I believe that the positive side is stronger. If people use this wisely and carefully, it will bring more good result than bad ones. I hope that Government and individuals work together for a better and more successful future for everyone.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response makes an attempt to discuss both views and gives a personal opinion, but it only minimally addresses the actual question. The task asks you to compare species loss with other environmental problems; instead, the essay shifts to whether “this is a good idea” and whether it has “advantages” or “disadvantages,” which does not fit the topic. The first body paragraph also claims that other environmental problems are “not that important” without explaining which problems or why. The point about reproducing plants is relevant to species loss, but it is unclear and unsupported. To improve, name specific alternatives such as climate change or pollution, explain why some people consider them more serious, and develop a clear comparison before stating your view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and phrases such as “On one hand” and “On the other hand” signal an intended contrast. However, the ideas do not progress coherently because the essay repeatedly refers to an undefined “idea” and to its “advantages” and “disadvantages,” rather than consistently comparing the two environmental views. The first body paragraph’s reasoning is difficult to follow, and the example in the second paragraph does not clearly support the claim. Some linking is mechanical, while punctuation and paragraph openings are inconsistent. Make each paragraph’s purpose explicit, use clear references to the views, and connect each reason to a specific example and conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary is basic and often repetitive, relying on broad terms such as “good idea,” “beneficial,” “useful,” and “problem.” This limits precision when discussing environmental issues, and several phrases are awkward or unclear, including “reproduce plants” and “more other environmental problem.” Spelling errors such as “beleive,” “thier,” and “my self” also reduce accuracy. There are some attempts at topic-related language, including “loss of particular species” and “improving our environment,” but these are not developed into a wider range of precise expressions. Use specific terms for environmental threats and choose collocations that clearly express their effects and relative importance.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts some longer sentences, including the opening sentence and the conditional “If people use this wisely and carefully,” but control is inconsistent, and many sentences contain errors that make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “the main environmental problem in our time was is” combines incompatible verb forms, while “the more environmental problems are not that important than” has a faulty comparison structure. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “family life.this is why,” and the conclusion begins with a fragment: “Although both views have some truth.” Work on consistent tense, complete sentence construction, comparative forms, and punctuation. Shorter, accurately controlled sentences would make the argument easier to understand.
