Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, people believe that, the main environmental problem leads to extinction of particular species of animals and plants. While other believe that there are more other enviromental problem like air pollution or somg in winter. But I believe that environmental issues lead to other problem rather than only loss of animals or species.
On the one hand people think that, enviromental problem is the main reason to loss of biodiversity like, some species of animals or plants. The governmental of pakistan, revealed the fact that, the markhor , national animal of pakistan becomme extincted after the environmental effect. Also, the star fish become the victim of this probem. Because there are several research which indicate that this problem has major impact on the animals and plans.
On the other hand, environmental problem has not only effect to biodiversity but it also have major impact on human life. Last year, I read the article where it is mentioned that, due to environmental issue the air quality index exceed from 2000 point and smog spread in whole city which left the heavy effect on human health. For instance, flew and caugh became common in people and hospitals fulled with ill people. The climate change also become clear after the environmental probems which als directly impact on society
Lastly, I conclude that, enviromental problems do not only leads to extinction of species like animals or plants but it also contribute to the bad air quality in city which has major impact on human health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear overall position: environmental problems affect biodiversity as well as people. The two body paragraphs also provide relevant examples, including the markhor and the effects of smog on health. This meets the task’s main requirements. However, the discussion is unevenly developed: the first view is supported mainly by brief claims about the markhor and starfish, without explaining how environmental change caused their decline. The second view is clearer, but the example about an air-quality index above 2000 would be stronger with a specific location or source and a clearer explanation. Develop each example and explain how it supports the view being discussed to make the response more complete and convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding summary. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “Lastly” help readers follow the discussion. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “While other believe…” is a fragment rather than a complete contrast, and “Because there are several research…” does not connect smoothly to the preceding claim. The conclusion repeats the introduction without adding a final synthesis. Use complete linking sentences, make the relationship between claims and examples explicit, and vary transitions so that progression feels more natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “extinction,” “biodiversity,” “air quality index,” “smog,” and “climate change,” so the reader can understand the subject and your main points. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors reduce precision: “environmental problem” is repeated, “somg” is misspelled, and “the governmental of Pakistan” is not an appropriate expression. Phrases such as “bad air quality” and “heavy effect” are also vague or unnatural. Aim for more precise environmental vocabulary and check spelling and common word combinations. This would make your ideas clearer and more fluent without changing their meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “While” and a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “due to environmental issue.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur across the response. For example, “While other believe…” is an incomplete clause, “it also have major impact” has an agreement error, and “the markhor … becomme extincted” has an incorrect verb form. Commas also frequently interrupt clauses, as in “I believe that, environmental issues…”. Practise building complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms; then proofread punctuation. More accurate control of these patterns will support your attempts at complex sentences.
