Student answer (Band 5.0)

Fewer people opine that main environmental issue of our time is the degradation of particular species of plants and animals, whereas other posulate that there are more vital environmental difficulty. So, in the forthcoming paragraphs, I have provided both the views and included my opinion at the end.

On the one hand, animals and plants maintain balance of ecosystem and biodiversity. It is neccessary by maintaining ecosystem with controling the number of species of animals and plants because when the one species number increasing then it affects the whole food chain. Animals hunt other animals like the ants hunt by the frogs and the frogs hunt by the snack due to this the ecosystem is balancing and not harming to environment.

On the other hand, the environmental problems like air pollution are also considering as essential hurdle. The air is breathing by every species of earth due to this, it contains more focus for preventing from air pollution. To prevent the air pollution authorities taking strict action and introducing new laws for controling the air pollution. By introducing the electric vehicles and making its neccessary for using rathen than using petroleum vehicles.

In my opinion, water pollution is also conserning issue in current days. Because in current days, the ganesh chaturthi is runing so after ganesh chaturthi every individuals go to river and lake for immersion of lord ganesha because of this the rivers and lakes will pollute with sands and chemicals of their statue which is non disposable and the water of rivers is spreading the disease which is constructing from that chemicals waste.

To conclude, the plants, animals and environment these three are very major things for recovering them from any crisis because the plants and animals aid to balance the ecosystem and biodiversity and preventing the air pollution for inhaling the fresh air of environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views by discussing species loss and air pollution, and you add a personal view about water pollution. The examples of food-chain relationships and the immersion of festival statues make the response relevant and show an effort to support your points. However, the task asks you to compare the importance of species loss with other environmental problems, and your position is not clearly stated until the water-pollution paragraph; even there, you do not explain how it ranks against the other concerns. Some reasoning is also unclear, such as how the food-chain example demonstrates species loss as a major problem. State your view directly and develop each side with a clearer explanation and specific consequences.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, a paragraph giving your opinion, and a conclusion. Phrases such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. For example, the first body paragraph moves from ecosystem balance to a food-chain example without clearly explaining the link to species loss. The conclusion also combines plants, animals, air pollution, and fresh air without clearly restating your position. Some linking is mechanical, particularly repeated uses of “due to this” and “because of this.” Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-specific vocabulary, including “biodiversity,” “ecosystem,” “air pollution,” and “immersion,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the argument difficult to understand. For instance, “degradation of particular species” does not clearly express the loss of species, while “more vital environmental difficulty” and “essential hurdle” are unnatural ways to describe major problems. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “posulate,” “neccessary,” and “conserning.” Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. Reusing accurate terms such as “species extinction,” “habitat loss,” and “water contamination” would make your discussion clearer and more appropriately academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some longer sentence forms, including a clause beginning “because when,” and you attempt to explain causes and effects. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles can make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “the air is breathing by every species” has an incorrect passive construction, and “the environmental problems … are also considering” does not form a correct verb pattern. In “the frogs hunt by the snack,” the sentence structure obscures who is hunting whom. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then join them with one clear subordinate clause. Check subject–verb agreement and use complete, correctly punctuated sentences.
