Student answer (Band 4.5)
In contemporary society, we have faced a lot of environmental problems that affected our lives, and remained as unsoved. At this point, some people say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Others say that there are more important environmental problems. I firmly believe that there are several environmental problems which are much more important than the loss of particular species of plants and animals.
Particular species of plants and animals are now threatned by extenction. for instance, panda and polar bear can examplify this situation. For that reason, humans should intervent and prevent any unwanted threats that can help in the extenction of these species.
No one denies that nowadays, there are more important environmental problems than the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Problems, such as global warming and how to prevent the melting of ice bergs deserve much more attention. Thats why it is urgent to turn the table to ward the things that can affect our lives in the near future, and work more on saving lives better than focusing the loss of particular species of plants.
perssonaly, i share the perspective that it is better to focus on much more importa

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify both viewpoints and state your own position: you argue that problems such as global warming deserve greater attention. However, the response addresses the task only minimally. The species-loss view is illustrated with pandas and polar bears, but the explanation of why they are threatened or why protecting them matters is very brief. The alternative view is also named rather than developed; melting ice is mentioned, but its effects and relative importance are not explained. Your final sentence is incomplete, so your opinion is not fully concluded. The response contains 161 words, below the required 250; 48 words copied from the prompt were excluded from that count. Develop each view with reasons and a relevant example, then finish with a clear, supported conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph about species loss, a paragraph about other environmental problems, and an attempted personal conclusion. This gives the reader some indication of the intended progression. However, ideas are not arranged coherently enough to form a complete discussion. The third paragraph begins, “No one denies,” which does not logically establish that other problems are more important, and “That’s why” does not clearly connect the preceding points to the proposed response. The final paragraph stops mid-sentence, leaving the argument unfinished. Use clear topic sentences, explain how each supporting point follows from the previous one, and complete the conclusion so the essay has a coherent ending.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the general topic, with relevant terms such as “environmental problems,” “global warming,” “melting,” and “species.” You also attempt more formal expressions, including “deserve much more attention.” However, the range is limited and several spelling or word-choice errors make the writing less clear, for example “unsoved,” “threatned,” “extenction,” and “intervent.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, such as “turn the table to ward the things” and “saving lives better than focusing the loss.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Build a wider set of accurate environmental terms and check spelling and collocations carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use some simple sentences and attempt longer structures, such as “I firmly believe that there are several environmental problems which are much more important…” This shows an effort to express a position and connect ideas. However, the range remains limited, and frequent errors affect accuracy. For example, “we have faced … and remained as unsolved” has an unclear subject and faulty verb construction; “panda and polar bear can exemplify” needs plural forms and agreement; and “it is urgent to turn” is not formed naturally in this context. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including the lowercase “for instance” after a full stop and “Thats.” Practise accurate sentence patterns and review verb forms, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries.
