Student answer (Band 5.0)

A large number of individuals argue that the major environmental issues of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. Other believe that there are more essential environmental problems. I wholeheartedly believe that destroying forest and increasing transportation as well as plastic waste main causes of environmental problem.

On the one hand, there are many reasons behind the environmental issues. One of the crucial reasons is that lossing various kinds of species and forest also animals, whose are keeping the healthy environment. According to "Bangla newspaper" in 2001, in Dhaka environmental circumstance, during that time people were encouraging each other for tree plantations. In addition, vehicals are occure environmental pollution massive way. For example, Dhaka to sylhet highway there are lots of buses and lorry continue. Consequently, to much transportation system increase environmental pollution and noise pollution.

On the other hand, many individuals believe this problem of environment for liable us. In Bangladesh, people are not curious about environmental problems, whereas they can do pollution different way. Citizens do not encourage each other so that they use recyling products instead of plastic waste. If public authorities can take steps and encourage other to uses pater bag. I believe national authority can not able to reduce this problem therefore individuals have some responsibility encourage others as well as dirts are throwing bins.

In conclusion, while environmental problems significant reasons society and people. I contend that the major issues of environmen is demolish forest and reduce tree plantations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a position in the introduction and conclusion, and you refer to species loss, forest destruction, transport pollution and plastic waste. However, the discussion does not clearly explain both views: the first body paragraph shifts between species loss, tree planting and vehicles, while the second focuses mainly on individual responsibility rather than identifying and comparing other major environmental problems. The example about a newspaper in Dhaka is difficult to connect to the argument, and most points need clearer explanation or specific support. The conclusion also does not directly summarise both sides. The response contains 237 words, so it is 13 words below the 250-word minimum; 13 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each view with relevant reasons and examples, then state your opinion clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion, so there is an attempt to organise the discussion. However, the progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first moves from species loss to a newspaper reference and then to traffic, without explaining how these points connect. In the second, individual responsibility, recycling, plastic bags and litter are introduced in quick succession. Linking phrases such as “In addition” and “Consequently” are used, but the relationships they signal are not always clear or logical. Some references, including “this problem,” are also vague. Group related ideas together and use linking expressions only when their relationship is explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “environmental pollution,” “noise pollution,” “species,” “recycling” and “tree plantations,” which gives the response some relevant range. However, the vocabulary is limited and several inaccurate word choices or forms make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “environmental circumstance” is unclear in context, “lossing” is misspelled, and “liable us” does not express the intended idea. There are also spelling errors such as “vehicals,” “recyling” and “environmen.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “habitat destruction,” “vehicle emissions” and “single-use plastic” would help you explain environmental issues more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause beginning “whose are keeping” and a conditional sentence beginning “If public authorities can take steps.” However, these attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning hard to understand. For example, “the major environmental issues … is” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “Other believe” and “people were encouraging” do not use the intended forms consistently. The conditional sentence beginning “If” is left without a complete main clause. The conclusion, “while environmental problems significant reasons society and people,” is also grammatically incomplete. Practise building complete sentences and checking each clause for a clear subject and verb.
