Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some individual argue that the major problem of this time is mainly some plant and species become absolete, but other speak that they are the crucial evnviromental issue. I firmly beleive that, the existance of all natural habibat is very important and if they extinct, it'll unbalanced the whole Eco-system.
One the one hand, those who think all animal and plant is our important part of the sytem are educated and They knows chains of food supply. For instance, if one animal species who is omnivors and predator, suddenly disappeared, their pray will grow in numbers and effect the balance in the eco-system. it happed in australia around 1900 as the number of camels grown, which destroyed the crops and compete with local animals for food as a result many native animal became danger of being extinct.
On the other hand, who is againt this is due to invasive nature of some living things. For example, a fish with camoflauge color and their body is made of hard outer shell become danger to the farming fish. This animal can create tunnal on river corners which leads to soil erosion. The other main problem is it's growing in large numbers, other fish struggle for foods and became the danger for other marine animals.
In conclusion, all plans and animals are equally inportant for our Ecosystem, without one other might be effected such as food supply chain but we have to control the numbers of each specie so other may not effected.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a relevant opinion: protecting species matters because their loss can disrupt ecosystems, and you also discuss concerns about invasive species. The two body paragraphs broadly address both views, with examples involving food chains and an introduced animal. However, the task asks you to explain why some people consider species loss the main environmental problem and why others see more important problems. The second view is not clearly framed as a comparison with other environmental threats; instead, the paragraph focuses on one invasive species and its effects. Your examples are also difficult to identify precisely, and the conclusion mainly repeats your position rather than weighing the views. Develop each side with a clear reason and a specific, explained example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps readers follow the broad direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. In the first body paragraph, the link between the food-chain explanation and the camel example needs to be made explicit; the example’s relevance is not immediately apparent. The second paragraph moves from a fish’s appearance to tunnelling, erosion, and competition without clearly connecting these points. Some references, such as “this animal” and “they,” are also unclear. Use topic sentences that state each view directly, then organise supporting details in a clear cause-and-effect sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “food supply,” “predator,” “soil erosion,” “invasive,” and “ecosystem.” These choices show an effort to discuss environmental processes rather than relying only on general language. However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent and sometimes make meaning difficult to follow, as in “absolete,” “habibat,” “camoflauge,” and “tunnal.” Several expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “the crucial environmental issue” and “danger of being extinct.” The repeated use of “animal,” “important,” and “problem” limits the range. Check spelling carefully and learn accurate topic collocations, such as “species become extinct,” “habitat loss,” and “threat to native wildlife.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use conditional and cause-and-effect structures, for example, “if they extinct, it'll unbalanced the whole Eco-system” and the sentence beginning “if one animal species… suddenly disappeared.” These attempts show an effort to express relationships between events. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries occur throughout. Examples include “Some individual argue,” “they knows,” and “the number of camels grown.” The opening sentence also joins contrasting ideas without a clear grammatical structure, while several sentences begin with lowercase letters after full stops. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using correctly formed clauses and consistent punctuation.
