Student answer (Band 5.0)

Few indivdiuals say that the main environmental problem of our time is the loss of particular species of plants and animals .While other argue that there are more important environmental problems due to climate change or air pollution effect more .In my opinion , I believe that both argument are valid but climate change and air pollution have wider impact on human life and environment

One the one hand ,The loss of paticular species are major concern for us .Because every species a major role in environment and nature .The disapperance of bee can reduce polluation and reduce production ,however every species have a major roles that maintain our environment and increasing production, whereas come species controls other unnecessery birth they are harmful for societys, They easily control them and also feed for him .

One the other hand , environment problems such as climate change and pollution can effect millons of people who live in earth .for instance polluted air is very harmful for society and people they can cause health problems .Furthermore bad temperature may lead to floods and many uncertain events may occurs . I believe these matter deserve high attention. because these matters are important for our community .However these problems may effect both humans and wildlife on large scale

To sum up . The lose of species is a major environment concern . i belive that we must include climate matters otherwise we see some drawbacks in future may be get bigger shape and put huge impacts on environment

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state an opinion: you explain that species loss matters, then argue that climate change and air pollution affect people and wildlife on a wider scale. The examples of bees, polluted air, and floods are relevant, but several points are unclear or insufficiently explained—for instance, the claim that some species control “unnecessary birth” is difficult to follow, and the effects of climate change are only briefly mentioned. The conclusion repeats your position but does not develop it. Overall, the task is only partially addressed because the discussion and supporting reasons remain limited. The response contains 234 words, below the 250-word minimum; 19 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each view with a clear explanation and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two sides. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “however” and “whereas” connect ideas that do not form a clear contrast, while “these matters” is repeated without specifying which problems are meant. Several sentences run together, making relationships between points harder to follow. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it in a clear sequence. Use linking words only when their logical relationship is accurate, and make references such as “these problems” precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “species,” “environment,” “climate change,” “polluted air,” “health problems,” and “floods.” These terms allow you to discuss the subject, but the overall range is limited and several word choices or forms make meaning difficult to understand. For example, “reduce polluation” appears to mean reducing pollination, and “bad temperature” is imprecise for rising temperatures or extreme weather. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “indivdiuals,” “disapperance,” and “millons.” Aim to use accurate environmental collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain impacts and comparisons without relying on broad phrases such as “major concern” and “huge impacts.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “While” and a cause-and-effect point about polluted air. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “every species a major role,” which lacks a verb, and “every species have a major roles,” where the subject and verb do not agree and the noun form is incorrect. The opening also joins sentence fragments with “While,” and several sentences are run together. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and sentence boundaries. Use a few accurate complex structures rather than joining many ideas at once.
