Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views: the first body paragraph discusses species loss, while the next considers pollution and other environmental concerns. You also give a general opinion that pollution is more serious and conclude that both wildlife and the environment need protection. However, the position is not consistently clear: the introduction promises to explain your view, but does not state it, and the conclusion does not clearly resolve which problem you consider more important. Several ideas are relevant but under-developed. For example, the zoo example is difficult to connect to species loss, and the discussion of pollution does not explain its effects in enough detail. State your position directly and support each view with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation or a well-chosen example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the discussion. You also use linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion.” However, these connectors sometimes feel mechanical or do not show the precise relationship between ideas; for instance, “On the other hand” introduces pollution without clearly contrasting it with species loss. Some sentences within paragraphs are loosely connected, and references such as “these conditions” are not fully specific. Improve progression by grouping related points, explaining how each example supports the paragraph’s main idea, and using clearer references rather than relying on repeated transition words.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “fossil fuel,” “deforestation,” “air pollution,” “water pollution,” and “extinction,” so the reader can identify the environmental themes. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning unclear. Examples include “loss of our diversity,” “danger for plants and animals,” and “main reasons for ecosystem.” Spelling errors such as “direactly,” “huamns,” and “extiniction” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn environmental terms in natural combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases such as “loss of biodiversity” and “threat to wildlife” would help you express your ideas clearly without relying on broad or repeated wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” or “that,” but control is inconsistent. Many sentences contain errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, or verb forms, which can make the reader pause. For example, “environment issue is direactly lead to humans lives” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “there are many animals are preseve” combines two structures and has an incorrect verb form. The opening also contains run-on sentences, with missing spaces after full stops. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, articles, and separating complete sentences with appropriate punctuation.
