Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals believe that the main environmental problem of their time is the loss of specific speciecs of plants and animals while others argue that there are many crucial enviromental issues. I truly believe that both of them are right in their place. This essay will discuss both points of view.

On one hand, the proponents states that the main ecological issue of their time is the decrease of certain species of plants and animals. To explain this, they say that deforstation and cutting of trees are the main cause of air pollution which is the significant cause of enviromental challenges however the decrease of animals also cause enviromental problems.

On the other hand, the opponents believe that there more important envriomental difficulties. To elaborate this, use of plastic, vehicles, electronic accessories are also cause environmental prblems. The use of cars, buses and bikes are increases nowadays which emits chloroflorocarbon which pollute the enviroment and causes air pollution, land pollution and noise pollution. the use of plastic also affect environment and cause air and water pollution. This can badly affect plants, animals, marine ecosystems and also humans.

I my opinion, I think that main cause of enviromental are in a very large numbers they may be palnts, animals, humans or may be the modren technology. Each of them can arise envriomental problems in thier own way.

In conclusion, some people say that special environmental problem of our time is the decay of plants and death of animals whereas the other argue that are many other significant cause of enviromental problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state that “both of them are right,” so the response is relevant to the question. However, this position remains broad and is not developed into a clear judgement about which problems are more important or how the two views relate. The discussion of species loss is especially limited: deforestation and air pollution are mentioned, but the link to the decline of particular plants and animals is not explained. The second view includes plastic and transport, yet the examples are listed rather than supported with specific consequences or evidence. The conclusion repeats the two sides without reinforcing a definite opinion. Develop each view with a clear explanation and example, then state your own comparative position consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs beginning “On one hand” and “On the other hand,” an opinion paragraph, and a conclusion. These signposts help the reader follow the two sides. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some links are mechanical or confusing. For example, the first body paragraph moves from species decline to deforestation and air pollution without clearly showing the connection. In the second, several causes are listed before the effects are explained. The opinion paragraph also introduces a broad list of possible causes rather than building on the preceding discussion. Use linking phrases to show cause and contrast precisely, and make each paragraph develop one central idea in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “species,” “deforestation,” “marine ecosystems,” and “air pollution,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled forms make the writing less clear, such as “speciecs,” “enviromental,” “chloroflorocarbon,” and “envriomental.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “both of them are right in their place” and “main cause of environmental are in a very large numbers.” Aim for accurate spelling and more precise collocations when describing environmental causes and effects. Replacing repeated general terms such as “problems” and “cause” with specific vocabulary would also make the discussion clearer and more flexible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast clause beginning “while” and a relative clause in “which emits…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, and verb forms sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “the proponents states,” “there more important environmental difficulties,” and “The use of cars, buses and bikes are increases.” The sentence beginning “I my opinion” also has an incomplete or faulty structure, while the final sentence lacks a clear grammatical construction after “the other argue.” Work on subject–verb agreement, complete sentence patterns, and accurate clause formation. Punctuate sentence boundaries carefully, especially where ideas currently run together.
