Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response identifies pollution from factories as an environmental problem and gives some relevant effects, including harm to fish, crops, animals, and the atmosphere. However, it does not discuss both views in the question: the loss of particular plant and animal species is not considered as a distinct issue, and there is no comparison of its importance with other environmental problems. The writer’s own position is also difficult to identify; the final suggestion to limit industry implies a view, but it is not clearly stated or supported. The response is 75 words below the required minimum, which further limits the opportunity to address the task. To improve, explain each viewpoint, state which you consider more serious, and support that judgement with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic line of thought: population growth is linked to factories, pollution is linked to damage to water and wildlife, and the response ends with a proposed limit on industry. Some cause-and-effect connections are understandable. However, nearly all ideas are placed in one long, unpunctuated sequence, so the reader has difficulty seeing where one point ends and another begins. Repeated use of “and than” and “that is reason” makes the progression mechanical, while there are no paragraphs to separate the two views or the writer’s opinion. Organise the essay into clear paragraphs and use a small range of accurate links, such as “as a result” and “in contrast,” to show how the points relate.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses a basic set of topic-related words, including “pollution,” “factory,” “agriculture,” “forest,” and “toxic,” so the general subject is usually recognisable. It also attempts to describe environmental consequences rather than relying only on general statements. However, vocabulary is repetitive and several choices or forms are inaccurate, such as “factory west” for factory waste, “agriculture palaces,” and “the water is effect on animals health.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Build a more precise range for this topic, including terms such as “industrial waste,” “contaminate,” and “species loss,” and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to connect several ideas in longer sentences, including the chain from factory waste to polluted water and harm to animals. This shows an effort to express cause and effect. However, sentence boundaries and punctuation are largely missing, and many clauses are joined with “and,” making the structure difficult to follow. There are also recurring problems with verb forms and agreement, as in “we are not discuss,” “peoples are doesn’t think,” and “that is the reason of environment problem.” The range of sentence structures remains limited, and errors frequently obscure relationships between ideas. Use shorter, complete sentences first, then add controlled complex forms with “because,” “which,” or “as a result.”
