Student answer (Band 4.5)

People have different views about whether that the main environamental problem of our times is the loss of particular species of palnts and animals, while others think that there are more significant environmental problems. There are strong arguments on both sides. I believe that the core environmental issue is reduced endangered species and decreased animals habitat.

There are a number of reasons why many people say that the main environmental problem is the loss of particular species of palnts and animals. One possible reason is that cutting down trees and cleared forest. Then this problem once time will make huge problem for environment and this issue greater effect on animals and particular species of palnts. By reducing natural balance of forest and animals struggle to survive in the environment. Another reason could be that create constructions in forest, which heavily affect on the animals living areas. For example, at present most famous of particular animals are endangered because people makes building and they are cutting down trees.

Despite being there are more essential environmental problems. Firstly, if individuals do not concerend about environmental problems, they will loss their natural habitat.Without these problems create detrimental problems for animals and species.Secondly, they may suffere from natural diseaster, if they do not make good decisions. To illustrate, every country suffer with environmental problmes because they do not response about the problems.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You state a position—“I believe” species loss and habitat decline are central—and give relevant points about deforestation and construction. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the second view is not explained accurately: the paragraph beginning “Despite being there are more essential environmental problems” does not identify or develop other major problems, such as climate change or pollution. The conclusion, “To sum up, there are more,” is unfinished, so your final opinion is not confirmed. Examples are also vague, such as “most famous of particular animals,” and the response does not meet the required 250-word minimum. To improve, explain each side clearly, support it with a specific example, and complete a conclusion that directly answers the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph about species loss, a paragraph intended to present the opposing view, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression is difficult to follow because several links between ideas are unclear. For example, “Then this problem once time will make huge problem” does not clearly show how deforestation leads to species loss, while “Despite being there are more essential environmental problems” does not establish a clear contrast. The final paragraph stops after “To sum up, there are more,” leaving the argument incomplete. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s purpose, connect cause and effect explicitly, and finish with a complete conclusion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant environmental vocabulary, including “endangered species,” “natural balance,” “habitat,” and “constructions.” These terms show an attempt to address the topic, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear. For instance, “reduced endangered species” does not express the intended idea naturally, and “animals living areas” is imprecise. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “environamental,” “palnts,” “concerend,” and “diseaster.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling; prefer precise expressions such as “declining species populations” and “loss of natural habitats.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if individuals do not…,” and you use simple sentences to communicate your main topic. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction and verb forms occur frequently enough to make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “whether that the main…,” “cutting down trees and cleared forest,” and “people makes building.” The sentence “Without these problems create detrimental problems…” is also structurally incomplete, and spacing and punctuation are inconsistent. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add clauses with “because,” “which,” and “if.” Check that each sentence has a complete main clause and that verb forms agree with their subjects.
