Student answer (Band 5.5)
These days, environmental problem play a vital role in the world. However, while some of the view that many individuals believe that the major environmental issue of our time is the extinction of species of plants and animals, I align with those who are of the view that there are several critical environmental problems.
On the one hand, critics who argue that the loss of particular species of plants and animals have serious environmental problems is becuase species and animals play a important role in the ecosystem. If one species or animals become extinct, it affects the overall food chain, and negatively affect the other plants. It is often observed that, to protecting the species and animal essential for biodiversity and helathy enviroment in the future.
On the other hand, I believe, climate change and pollution are widely damage the enviroment is the former reason for other environmental issues. It is serious problem. Climate change can negatively affect the ecosystem and pollution are the major affectiong factor of environment. For instance, Air pollution caused by factory and vehicles, noise pollution caused by loud music and water pollution caused by factories chemical production. They can affect the millions of people and play importand role of damage the health problem. Government should create a strict rules and regulation on the environmental critics.
To conclude, although loss of species and animals can break the chain, pollution and climate change are the serious problem of enviroment. Therefore, on balance extinction of species and animals, pollution and climate change are the widely damage the environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and state your position in the introduction: you support the view that there are several critical environmental problems. The body paragraphs also include relevant points about biodiversity, food chains, climate change and pollution. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The explanation of species loss is brief, and the pollution paragraph lists examples but does not clearly explain how these problems compare in importance with extinction. Your conclusion mentions both sides but does not sharpen your own judgement about why broader problems are more serious. To strengthen the response, explain and support each main point with a specific consequence or example, and make your comparison explicit. The stated length requirement is met.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly where several claims are joined without clear relationships, as in the pollution paragraph. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “the former reason” are unclear. The conclusion also repeats earlier points rather than bringing them together into a clear final comparison. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main idea, then connect explanations and examples with precise referencing and logical transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “ecosystem,” “food chain,” “biodiversity,” “climate change,” and “pollution,” so the subject is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “widely damage the environment,” “major affectiong factor,” and “play importand role of damage” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Spelling errors such as “becuase,” “helathy,” and “enviroment” are also noticeable. Build a more accurate set of environmental collocations and check spelling carefully; for instance, describe pollution as “causing widespread environmental damage” and species as “essential to maintaining biodiversity.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening with “while” and a conditional sentence beginning “If one species…”. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction sometimes make meaning harder to follow. Examples include “environmental problem play,” “species and animals play a important role,” and “pollution are the major…” The sentence beginning “It is often observed that” is also incomplete in its construction. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, singular/plural agreement, and complete clauses. More accurate control of these basic patterns will make your complex ideas easier to understand.
