Student answer (Band 6.0)
Many people believe that in the modern age the primary enoviromental problem is extinction of cartain habitats while remaining individuals opposed this. However it is a major problem which community facing nowadays but in my opinion there are some other significant issues also.
On the one hand, lose of different species is very concerning and has multiples effect on living people. To begin with, the loss of some key stone species has diturb the food chain and collapse the ecosystem as every specie play a clinical role in the society. In addition, many wild plants contain great and complex chemicals which are highly effective for pharmaceuticals and loss of these plants means loss of remedies permanently. Moreover, the significant problem is the irreversbility which means that these extinct species will never come back to normal life.
On the other hand, there are few problems which are more concerning and bigger than this. First and foremost, climate change and Global warming causes devastating effects like intense heat, rising sea level and many chronic problems. Futhermore, nowadays pollution is more concerning as it directly destroy water resources, disturbs the water habitats and cause chronic respiratory diseases among people. For instance, according to recent survey by international organization which clearly shows that now a days skin cancer and dangerous respiratory diseases are widely spreading due to Global warming and air pollution around the world.
In conclusion, many people argue that deplition of species is a major enviromental concern as it collapse the ecosystem but there are other vital problems like climate chane and global warming which has more dangerous impact on living community.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and give a clear overall position: species loss is serious, but climate change and pollution are more pressing. The two body paragraphs are relevant, with reasons such as disruption to food chains, potential loss of medicinal plants, rising sea levels, and respiratory illness. This covers the task well, though some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that pollution is “more concerning” would be stronger with a clear comparison showing its wider or more immediate effects than species loss. The survey example is also vague and does not clearly substantiate the specific health claims. Develop one or two examples in more detail to make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing within the paragraphs is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “In addition,” and “On the other hand” help distinguish the arguments. However, the repeated use of formulaic transitions makes the progression somewhat mechanical, and some links between claims could be clearer. For instance, the survey sentence follows the discussion of pollution but does not explain how its evidence supports the comparison between environmental problems. Use a wider range of linking methods, including pronoun reference and cause-and-effect connections, and ensure each example is explicitly tied to the paragraph’s main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “food chain,” “ecosystem,” “pharmaceuticals,” “irreversibility,” and “respiratory diseases.” These choices show an effort to discuss environmental issues precisely, but frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices reduce clarity and control. Examples include “enoviromental,” “cartain,” “diturb,” and “deplition”; “clinical role” is also not the intended expression for a species’ function in an ecosystem. Some phrases are awkward or imprecise, such as “living people” and “come back to normal life.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations in context. More accurate topic vocabulary would make your ideas clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “which” and “as,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, errors in sentence structure, agreement, and verb forms occur often enough to limit accuracy. For example, “the community facing nowadays” needs a finite verb, while “every specie play” has problems with both the plural form and subject–verb agreement. In “pollution … destroy water resources … and cause,” the verbs do not agree with the singular subject. The sentence beginning “according to recent survey” is also structurally incomplete because it lacks a clear main clause. Practise checking each sentence for a subject and finite verb, then review agreement, articles, and consistent verb forms.
