Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people think that the main problem of our environment is the loss of particular species of plants and animals. On the other hand some other people think that there are other environmental problems that are very important. I think that every environmental problem is very important for us to get to know their solutions. Here i will discuss both views and put my opinion according to them.

First of all some people have opinion about environmental problems is that important types of plants and animals are distinguishing from our environment. For instance we are seeing that slowly some species are totally becoming to end from animals as well from plants. As from animals we have to put save eagle of different types, snackes , fishes elephants, some kinds of birds ,dianasors, some kind of lions . These helps in maintainance of our environment and also uses in medicins and different industrialization. As it is also for plants . Some plants that are very important for our lives for madication and other problmes we have to protect them.

On the other hand some people think that there are more other problems like traffic pollution that make environment polluted. Cutting of trees that conrole the amount of carbondioxide and produce oxygen for all living beings. Rust of wheecles ,industrialization. Smoking coming from industries and transports like cars ,buses, trains pollute our environment.

To sum up i ,m agree with both statements because we have to live in a healthy environment so we cannot ignore any types of pollution especiaaly about environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both views and state a position: “every environmental problem is very important,” and the conclusion agrees with both sides. However, the discussion is brief and ideas are mostly listed rather than explained. The examples of endangered species and their uses are relevant, but the link between species loss and environmental consequences is not developed; the second view similarly names traffic pollution, tree cutting and industrial emissions without explaining their effects in detail. Your opinion is also broad rather than clearly prioritising or comparing the problems. The response is 249 words, one word below the 250-word minimum; the 10 words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop each view with a clear reason and a specific example, then make your position more precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. “First of all” and “On the other hand” help signal the shift between the two sides, so the reader can follow the basic organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, with several examples placed in lists rather than connected through explanation. The introduction’s promise to discuss both views is repeated in the conclusion without a clear synthesis, and “To sum up” is followed by an unclear phrase (“i ,m agree”). Some links between ideas are also difficult to follow, particularly the transition from species to their medicinal and industrial uses. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, followed by explanation and an example, and use referencing more clearly.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “species,” “pollution,” “carbondioxide,” “oxygen,” and “industrialization,” and you attempt some less common terms such as “maintainance” and “medicins.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent enough to make parts of the response difficult to understand, as in “snackes,” “dianasors,” “madication,” and “Rust of wheecles.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, such as “becoming to end” and “traffic pollution that make environment polluted.” The range is therefore limited, and errors sometimes obscure the intended meaning. Build a reliable set of environmental collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “become extinct,” “vehicle emissions,” and “protect endangered species.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including “Cutting of trees that conrole the amount of carbondioxide and produce oxygen for all living beings.” However, this is a sentence fragment, and the response contains frequent errors in sentence construction and agreement that can make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “some people have opinion about environmental problems is that…” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “These helps” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, and the final sentence, “To sum up i ,m agree with both statements,” is not controlled. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, punctuation and capitalisation. Use a few accurate complex sentences rather than joining ideas without a clear structure.
