Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is an ongoing debate about environmental issue of this generation leads to loss of many species of plants and animals.while, on the otherhand, there are more substantial environmental problems.
From my point of view, I firmly believed that ,the vital problem is extinct of many plants and animals because they play very crucial role in environment.
Firstly, the environmental problem of this time are many but authorities ahould be focuss more on extinction of plants and animals because plants provide oxygen , food, maintain ecological balance ,provide shelter to animals.secondly, animals maintain food chain as every animal is depend on other animal for their food and complete the food chain.Another important reason to protect animal is biodiversity however various animals contribute to healthy ecosystem .although , animals provide food for humans as meat. For example, nowadays, tigers are went up in population as they control population of prey animals .
In contrast, the other problems are many such as scarcity of water in many areas and people facing many issues of water .Another significant issue is that deforestation as many country ,people cuttind down many trees from the forest and turning the forest lan to residentian which affect the biodiversity and it leads to emission of various gases and eventually global warminmg happen . For instance, In India , srisailam forest are facing deforestation issue and that greenland converting to residential area where people live .
In conclusion, the loss of species like plants and animals are very important for biodiversity and for human survival while , othere significant environmental issues such as lack of water and defprestation is also main concern . I agree to the major issues of extinction of plants and animals should be in control by the authorities .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and state a position: you argue that species loss is especially important, while also mentioning water scarcity and deforestation. Relevant supporting points include plants’ roles in providing oxygen and maintaining ecological balance, and animals’ place in food chains. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The example about tigers is unclear and does not convincingly show how their population has increased or why this supports your argument; the Srisailam example also needs a clearer explanation of its effects. Your position is present, but the conclusion introduces the idea that extinction should be controlled without explaining how this compares with the other problems. Develop each view with a precise explanation and a well-connected example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph supporting your view, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “secondly,” “In contrast,” and “In conclusion” help signal the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: several points about plants, animals, biodiversity, and food are joined together without clear separation or explanation. Some linking words are used awkwardly, as in “while, on the other hand,” and “although” does not clearly connect the idea that follows it. References such as “that greenland” are also unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain and illustrate it, using connectors and references more precisely.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant environmental vocabulary, including “extinction,” “ecological balance,” “food chain,” “biodiversity,” “scarcity of water,” and “deforestation.” These terms show an attempt to discuss the topic specifically rather than relying only on general language. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning unclear: “extinct of many plants and animals,” “animals are went up in population,” and “forest lan to residentian” are examples. Spelling errors such as “warminmg,” “defprestation,” and “ahould” also reduce clarity. Build accuracy by learning environmental terms in complete phrases and checking spelling; for example, use “the extinction of species” and “the population of tigers has increased.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and a contrast introduced by “In contrast.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation frequently make the reader work to understand the message. For example, “the environmental problem of this time are many” has an agreement problem, while “every animal is depend on other animal” has an incorrect verb construction. The opening sentence is also incomplete or poorly joined, and several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check verb forms and agreement, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
