IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The flow diagram illustrates the production of electricity in a hydroelectric power station.The process begins with a river which flows and continues through a series of mechanical steps, ultimately resulting in the production of electricity.
The process begins with the river water is stored with the support of dam walls which has high capacity to store.In this phase the intake was open at day time and closed in night times. Electricity generate in day time when the water flow towards downside , subsequently the pumping of water towards upside is scheduled at night sessions.
Following the turbines it is reversible it is combined of two mechanism it can operate generator in sun period and in darkness sends the water into upper level of reservoir.
The working of generator is placed at power station they set up the pipe lines to supply the power from station to national grid.
Finally,in the last stage low level reservoir keep to water to dispatch into the turbines from down to up.
