IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
The diagram depicts that the process of how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station during two time periods: day and night.
In the begining, water is stored into a high-level reservoir which is come from a river. After that, Dam is open during the day to flow of water towards. Subsequently, water is contain into a reversible tubines which operate generator during the day intake. Electricity is passed to the power lines and approched at national grid.
In the night, pump water into low-level reservoir to high level reservoir. Then, water is flow from turbine to the dam via pumping. Dam is closed during the night. Consequently, this process is repeated further.
Overall, it is evident that, the whole process devided into to intake like day as well as night. In the day, water goes to high-level reservoir to power station and produced electricity which used for national grid. Whereas, during the night, the reverse process pumping this water towards to the dam.
