IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
the diagram illustrates the generation of the electricity in a power station hydroelectric.
To generate the electricity has to go through many steps starting with getting water from the river and ends with it going through the power lines. water is included through this whole process.
firstly the river water is gone through the dam which opens during the day and closes during the night. during the day the water generates electricity but during the night it keeps on pumping water back to the river once more.
then the water enters in to the power station which is divided into two part the generator and the reversible turbines, when the water is gone through the generater it enters the power line and then enters the national grid and for the other part it goes through the low level reservoir or goes back to the pumping process once more at night.
