The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 4.0)

The figure illustrate how the electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.The river water put into dam that is at high reservoir usually open at day and closed at night .it is man made and cyclic process. Flow of water in day at dam is increased as compared to flow at night. The generator operates the turbines at night.at power station the turbines work to generate electricity. The water flow from high reservoir to lower reservoir.

the hydroelectric power station generate more electricity at day by running turbines. All the parts of the power station work efficently.dam is the best place to store large amount of water. Comparison is made at low and high reservoir,

the main theme is electricity production.day and night shift both contribute to theworking of power station.many power lines are present in the path of the power station. as the process is cyclic water flow in both direction.
