IELTS Writing Task 1 question

The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

The flow chart illustrates the method of producing light through hydro electric power station.

Overall,the hydro electric power station contains the dam water and for the flow of water they used pipes and a generator inside it.Due to this power lines supply the light to the national grid.

The river water flows down into the high level of reservoir which is stored in the form of dam.Water is stored in the morning time and closed at the night time.Then water can be flown using the pipes for producing electricity during the day time and using pumps at the dark time.Significantly,reversible turbines are also operating into the high level reservoir they will starts operating generator at the day time and night time they use pumps.

The morning time when the generator is operating and the power station starts working and they are providing light to the national grid.In this way electricity is produce.
