Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, reaching only 79 words. Consequently, the task is only partially addressed. The summary of the main features is underdeveloped, and the description of the process is fragmented and lacks the necessary detail to explain the hydroelectric generation cycle effectively. The response does not provide a clear overview of the process, and the information provided is insufficient to meet the requirements of an Academic Task 1 report.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response lacks logical progression and clear paragraphing. While there is an attempt to use sequencing words like 'at the first' and 'next', these are used inaccurately. The sentences are disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the stages of the process. The lack of sufficient content prevents the development of a coherent structure, and the overall organization is weak.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'water', 'day', and 'night'. There are significant issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'going on dam high level reserviour' and 'opened on day'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe a technical process, and the errors in word formation and usage frequently impede the clarity of the message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The grammatical range is extremely limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. There are frequent errors in basic grammar, such as 'how to generated electricity' (incorrect verb form), 'river water is going on dam' (missing articles and incorrect preposition), and 'flow of water of generate' (incorrect structure). Punctuation is also inconsistent. The high frequency of errors makes the text difficult to read and understand.
