The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Above the diagram illustrates the method of rotating the coil and how the turbine of the generator is rotated and how to produce the electricity in a Hydroelectric power station.
Overall, this type of figure describes the Dam is connected with the bank of river, when the level of water is increased towards the river. In the bottom of the dam, there is a small internal, water is flow through the internal during day time and the process is reverse during night time to produce electricity.
A Dam is constructed near to the bank of river, during the High-level-reservoir, the water is reached at the high level, there is a small internal at the bottom of the river and connected to the hydroelectric power station to generate the electricity. When the water is flow through the bottom of the river at Day time and move in side the power station, the turbine is move during the flow of water which produce electricity and that is move to the Power Lines, after this is moves towards the national grid. the process is reverse at night which is also use to produce the electricity
