The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The diagram above shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Overall , we can illustrate that their are a river showing in the tarting of diagram and intake are shown in the end of the diagram .
Firstly , we can see that their are one river of high level reservoir . Then the water of the river fall in the dam . However, water flow in the forward direction to generate electricity in day time . After this their are generator in the power station to generate electricity . And by generating the electricity it transfer in the power lines and than it reaches to national grid. This process takes place in the day time .
In night time , their are low reservoir. Therefore, operate generator pump water into high level reservoir . And water flow during pumping in night time . Also , intake are open in day time and close in night time.
