IELTS Writing Task 1 question
The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
The chart illustrate the process of generating electricity using the method of hydroelectricitc power station.
Overall it is noticeable that water from high level reservoir comes to the other side of the dam. At that time electricity is generated using the power station.
A galnce at the chart reveals that water is stored by bulding the dam in the river. Whenever the doors of the dam is opended the water from high level reservoir will fall to the other side of the dam. There are two shift for generatation of electricity first during day time the flow of the water will generate the electricity and anotherone during night which will pump the water.
Further analiysis of the chart reflects that a power station is place at lower side of the dam. it inculdes generator which has two side. Upper side and the bottom side the water which comes during day time it is stored into lower level reservoir and during night the water is pumped back to the high level reservoir. Every time when the water will by pass through fans it will rottates and when ever the fan rottates it will generate the electricity. The generated electricity is stored into National grid through power lines.
