The diagram below shows how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 4.0)
The diagram illustrates the information about how electricity is generated in a hydroelectric power station.It shows the complete process of generating electricity from power station.
At first in the night the dam is closed and the water is stored in the dam from the river ,Whereas in the day the dam is opened and the high-level reservoir water is flow from the dam to the power station through pipe line to generate electricity.In power station generator during the night the water is flow from low-level reservoir to the dam high-level reservoir.
After this process the generator power lines which is also called national grid carried water from reversible turbines in the day and operate generator to produce electricity in power station.This is done by night water pumping that is stord in the dam and in the day it is transfer through pipelines to the power station to produce electricity.
