Student answer (Band 6.0)
Music is a universal form of communication. It allows the people from different parts of the world to come closer and reduce the gap between yonger and older generation. I largely agree that music helps the individuals to be exposed internationally by international music festivals and also to express their traditions and cultures to the younger generations.
To begin with, Music has an international appeal to the people. The people can enjoy songs from different countries without understanding the language. For instance, the people in bangladesh listen western pop music in english though they can not understand the foreign language well, which resultantly makes a favourable environment to learn other countrys' people and customes. In addition to this, inernational music festivals may create an international environment where people from different countries can share their own country's traditions and customes with others, helping to make a good relationship among the visitors. Because of this international events, the people can easily coomunicate with other people who come from different bacgrounds culturally.
Another significant advantage of music is that it can connect different generations regardless their age gap. Older and younger people can enjoy the same song , which can make the bridge between two generations. Furthermore, introducing the traditional song to the youth, the older people can make a good relation with the younger and preserve a country's traditions and customes. For instancde, People in bangladesh usually listen to folk music while celebrating bangali first day in a year and this helps them to make familiar the traditions to the younger generation. Thus , the gap between two generations has reduced .
In conclusion, although music can weaken oyher country's music by its international appeal, it tends to make a favorable environment which works for becoming different classes people together and reduce the gap among generations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you largely agree that music brings people together across cultures and generations. You address both parts of the question, explaining how international music and festivals can encourage cultural exchange, and how shared or traditional songs can connect younger and older people. The Bangladesh examples make the discussion relevant, particularly the folk music played during New Year celebrations. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that international music creates a favourable environment to learn about other cultures could be developed by showing how listening or attending a festival leads to interaction. The concluding concern that international music may weaken other countries’ music is also introduced without support, so clarify how it fits your overall agreement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for cultural and generational connections, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “To begin with,” “Another significant advantage,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main stages. Within paragraphs, however, some links feel mechanical or unclear. “Because of this international events” does not clearly connect the preceding point to the claim that people communicate more easily, and “Thus, the gap between two generations has reduced” is not well supported by the example immediately before it. There is also some repetition of “people,” “traditions and customs,” and “gap.” Use more precise referencing and make each example’s connection to its main claim explicit to improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “universal form of communication,” “international appeal,” “preserve,” and “generations,” which allows you to discuss both cultural exchange and age differences. Some less common expressions are attempted, but inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling reduce precision. For example, “exposed internationally” does not naturally express cultural awareness, while “make familiar the traditions” is an awkward way to describe passing traditions on. Several spelling errors, including “yonger,” “customes,” “coomunicate,” and “bacgrounds,” are noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than more elaborate phrasing, and proofread carefully. More precise vocabulary for interaction and cultural transmission would help you express your ideas with greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including clauses with “though,” “while,” and “which,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “which resultantly makes” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “regardless their age gap” needs a grammatical construction such as “regardless of their age gap.” The sentence beginning “Furthermore, introducing the traditional song to the youth…” is awkwardly structured, making the relationship between the older people and the action less clear. Capitalisation and spacing around punctuation are also inconsistent. Review article use, prepositions, and sentence boundaries, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
