Student answer (Band 5.5)
Music is something that is different for every individual. Sometimes, music feels good to listen to during boring times or stress. Everyone has different taste in the music. From my Perspective these difference make music so special for some people because it brings different cultures and ages togather.
Sometimes music is a cure for two broken hearts, it act as saviour for the two broken hearts. Music has so much power that even age does not affect the music creator. Every culture has their different type of music which includes different kinds of istrument and also the folklore of that specific culture, This all unifies under the same through with the help of music, people love to listen differenet language music.
Don’t forget that music does not have the age preferences ,anyone of anyage can love music, this clarifies that music is the bridge between two aged people and two different cultures, which shows It's power. For instance, here in pakistan there are a lot of different types of culture which have their own music style. The interesting thing about the music here in pakistan is that, people encourage different cultures despite of their age, to perform on high level, this type of performances enhance new generation learn and get to know more about different cultures in pakistan.
Overall from my point of view, yes some people do like music because it brings people of different culture and age togather and this is the beautiful thing of the music that everyone should appreciate

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that music can connect people across cultures and ages, and you return to this view in the conclusion. The discussion is relevant, especially the point that people enjoy music in different languages and the example of cultural performances in Pakistan helping younger generations learn about other traditions. However, some claims are asserted rather than explained. For example, calling music “a cure for two broken hearts” does not clearly show how it brings people of different ages or cultures together. Develop this link with a specific situation or example, and explain more fully how shared performances or listening experiences create connection. This would make the support more consistently convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a concluding opinion. The Pakistan example gives the final body paragraph a useful focus. However, progression between ideas is sometimes unclear: the move from “two broken hearts” to music creators and then to cultural traditions is abrupt. Several sentences also repeat the same point that music connects people, particularly in the third paragraph and conclusion. Linking phrases such as “For example” and “Overall” help, but some connections are mechanical or imprecise. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain and illustrate it in sequence; use references such as “this shared experience” only when their meaning is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “different cultures,” “folklore,” “music style” and “performances,” which helps communicate the central idea. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, especially “different” and “music.” Some word choices or combinations are unclear or unnatural, such as “music creator,” “unifies under the same through” and “age preferences.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “istrument,” “togather” and “differenet,” which reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Build a wider set of precise expressions for shared musical experiences and cultural exchange, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a relative clause in “which shows It's power” and a sentence explaining how performances help younger people learn. However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “it act as saviour” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “Everyone has different taste” needs a plural noun or an article. The sentence beginning “Sometimes music is a cure…” joins two independent clauses with a comma, and several sentences have confusing punctuation or capitalisation. Practise accurate agreement, articles and sentence boundaries, then use a few well-controlled complex sentences to explain cause and effect.
