Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued that using music people from different ages and cultures can be unite. Although some might disagree that music did not bring people closer . I completely agree with this notion. Not only because music has no boarders and it define the history of a diversity but also because music works as a mental and physical therapy for individuals.
There are multiple benefits associated with music. Firstly, music works as a universal language and helps individuals from different countries to sit and enjoy to each other music. Take an example of North Korea, they have intense relations with South Korea but in 2014, a concert was held in North Korea of famous South Korean K-pop music. Thus the both countries people come closer to each other.
Secondly, music define the history of a diversity. As in music people define the struggle of their ancestors and their history during wars. For instance, the history of Greeks can easily understand by their music. In the Greek music the wars times is defined when they was defeated by their opposition but again rise to overcome the problems and occupied the lost places. Hence, music provide the historical information about a culture.
Finally, music is also works as a mental and physical therapy. If anyone get tired of their work they listen to music which make the energetic again.
To sum up, I believe that music is the best source of bringing people of different countries close together and also explaining the history of a culture .Music also plays an important role in a person mental and physical health

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you completely agree that music can bring people together, and you give relevant reasons involving cross-cultural connection, cultural history, and wellbeing. The example of a concert in North Korea helps illustrate the first point, while the discussion of Greek music supports your second reason. However, the historical example is difficult to follow, and the final point about music as therapy is only briefly stated rather than developed with an example or explanation. The response therefore addresses the task, but its ideas are not all explored equally. To strengthen it, explain more precisely how shared listening or participation builds relationships across age groups as well as cultures, and develop each example so its relevance is unmistakable.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, three body paragraphs signposted with “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Finally,” and a concluding summary. This makes the main line of argument easy to identify. The progression from music as a shared language to cultural history and personal wellbeing is generally logical. Some links, however, feel mechanical, and a few references are unclear—for example, “Thus the both countries people come closer” does not clearly explain who came together or how. The Greek example also moves from historical struggle to overcoming problems without a smooth explanation of the connection. To move beyond this level, use linking phrases more naturally and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “universal language,” “ancestors,” “historical information,” and “therapy,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “intense relations” and “mental and physical therapy.” However, several word choices, collocations, and spelling forms are inaccurate or awkward, including “no boarders,” “enjoy to each other music,” and “define the history of a diversity.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less precise, even though the overall message remains understandable. Aim to learn vocabulary in natural word partnerships and check spelling carefully; for example, “enjoy each other’s music” and “reflect a culture’s history” would express your ideas more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including the opening contrast beginning “Although” and the “Not only … but also” construction. This shows some range, and the main argument can generally be followed. However, there are some recurring errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “music … can be unite,” “music did not bring,” “music define,” and “If anyone get tired … they listen.” The opening “Although” clause is also left as a separate, incomplete sentence, and punctuation is inconsistent in places. Work on forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentence attempts clearer and more effective.
