Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of music as a unifying force. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. While you provide an example regarding Christmas carols, the explanation of how music specifically bridges age and cultural gaps remains superficial. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments, providing more nuanced analysis rather than just stating that music is a 'crucial thing.' The conclusion is also slightly contradictory, as you state 'In Contrast' when you are actually summarizing your agreement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'In Contrast' is used incorrectly at the end, as it suggests a disagreement with your own previous points. Additionally, some sentences are disjointed, such as 'Many individual will be enjoy the presence of melodies songs to get escaped from the stressful life.' Improving the flow between sentences using a wider range of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' 'in addition') would significantly improve the logical progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word forms, such as 'melodies songs' instead of 'melodious songs' and 'enchance about the culture's.' You rely on basic vocabulary, and some collocations are unnatural, such as 'packed schedule life.' To improve, focus on learning word families and common collocations. Using more sophisticated synonyms and ensuring correct word forms will help you convey your ideas with greater clarity and impact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('this type of occasions will gives'), incorrect article usage, and sentence fragments. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often marred by errors, such as 'whenever if there is a significant time to play a music.' The punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with apostrophes and spacing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
