Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of music as a unifying force. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention 'cultural understanding' and 'generation gaps', the supporting examples, such as the primary school art class, are vague and do not fully illustrate how music specifically bridges these gaps. Furthermore, the response is slightly under the 250-word minimum, which limits your ability to fully develop your arguments. To improve, focus on providing more detailed, specific examples that directly link music to the concepts of culture and age.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the sentence fragment 'Similarly. music helps...' and the repetitive use of 'it is well known that'. Transitions between ideas are sometimes abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') and ensure that your sentences are connected logically rather than just placed side-by-side.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic phrasing, such as 'different kind of music' and 'good memories'. There are also issues with word forms and collocations, such as 'i strongly advocated it' (should be 'advocate') and 'music is a good creativity'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic of culture and social interaction, and pay closer attention to word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('music will helps them'), incorrect verb tenses, and missing articles. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with sentence fragments and capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage. Proofreading for small errors like 'every people' (should be 'all people') will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
