Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt but fails to fully develop the argument regarding how music brings different cultures and ages together. The ideas are somewhat repetitive and lack depth, focusing more on personal listening habits than the broader social impact requested. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the ability to provide a fully developed response. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are underdeveloped and rely on generalizations rather than specific, relevant examples of how music bridges cultural or generational gaps.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is often disjointed. While some cohesive devices are used (e.g., 'For instance', 'To conclusion'), they are sometimes used incorrectly or mechanically. The transition between the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion is weak, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. The paragraphing is present but does not always serve to logically group related ideas, leading to a somewhat fragmented reading experience.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. Words like 'change', 'music', and 'people' are used frequently without variation. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'best technique of change individuals' instead of 'best way to bring individuals together' and 'motivation song' instead of 'motivational song'. These errors occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader, though the general meaning remains understandable.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('mostly people are a really into', 'I listened music'), article usage, and tense consistency. Complex sentence structures are attempted but are often faulty, such as 'If people are going from their home then they used headphone'. These frequent errors, while not completely impeding communication, are a significant distraction and indicate a lack of control over basic grammatical rules.
