Student answer (Band 6.5)
In today's world, music is becoming the rising trend to bring the people of different cultures and ages together. Despite most people disagreeing with this statement, I firmly agree with this statement, not because of the past events that happened globally but also because of my personal experience.
There are multiple events that happened globally. One of the most famous interviews was by Richard Williams, an English athlete. In which he said that, while playing with the USA players, they fought in past due to the personal reasons and had resolved when they stand together in the anthem of each other's country; after that, they greet each other and hugged together, showed the prosperity to every player which end with problem resolve.
Secondly, different tribes and nations represent their cultures through music; for example the invention of Dabla in the south Asia shows the boundlessness of Indian peoples. and the Sufism perspective of Turkish people in their music reflects the history and their tradition.
Now, as the world is turning global, the music also transfers from one nation to another through media reflecting their cultures. The standing of every people on the national anthem of any nation is the ideal example of bringing people of different cultures and ages together through music.
It's not only my belief, but it's also proven by the facts and experiences, relevant examples, and global events that music is indeed a positive way to bring people of different cultures and ages together under a single roof.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The example regarding Richard Williams is confusing and lacks clarity, making it difficult to follow the logic of how this specific event supports the argument. While the mention of national anthems and cultural representation through music is relevant, these points could be expanded with more depth to fully explore the 'ages' aspect of the prompt, which is currently neglected. The response meets the requirements of the task but would benefit from more precise supporting evidence and a more balanced exploration of both cultures and age groups.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Secondly' and 'In today's world', but some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second paragraph where the connection between the anecdote and the main argument is tenuous. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, though the flow between sentences within the paragraphs could be smoother to improve the overall progression of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for a higher band. There are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'rising trend to bring' and 'boundlessness of Indian peoples'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'Sufism' and 'national anthem', the overall lexical control is limited. Some phrasing is repetitive, and the vocabulary does not consistently demonstrate the flexibility needed to express complex ideas with nuance. More attention to natural word combinations would improve the score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, including issues with article usage ('the USA players'), subject-verb agreement, and awkward sentence construction ('they fought in past due to the personal reasons'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some run-on sentences and misplaced commas. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are frequent enough to occasionally distract the reader. To reach a higher band, the student needs to demonstrate better control over complex structures and reduce the frequency of basic grammatical slips.
