It is common to see that the popularity of music is a good way of bringing different cultures and ages people together is increasing day by day all around the world. An increasing number of people prefer to music their daily listening purpose and they believe that music can together of any cultural people. And I totally agree this point. This essay will discuss why people say music is so useful to connect different cultures and ages people together.
The significance of music cannot be overstated because of music is a universal language and promotes cultural exchanges. One of the main reasons why music is essential is that music is a universal language that can understood and appreciated by people regardless of their cultural or linguistic background. For example: people from different countries enjoy international songs, if they do not understand the lyrics properly. Another benefit is that music promote cultures exchange. To explain it simply, music allows people to learn different countries lifestyle, food, behavior, tradition and promoting respect among cultures.
In contrast, the importance of music connects people of different ages. Music create shared experience between younger and older peoples. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in the introduction and maintaining it throughout. The ideas are relevant, discussing both cultural exchange and intergenerational connection. However, the development is somewhat limited; while examples are provided, they are occasionally vague or lack depth. For instance, the example regarding 'international songs' is a good starting point but could be expanded to explain how this specifically fosters understanding. The essay covers the requirements well, but the arguments could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In contrast' and 'In conclusion', though some transitions feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. The referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the flow is interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as in the opening paragraph where the sentence structure becomes convoluted. Overall, the progression of ideas is easy to follow, and the paragraphing is appropriate for the task.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific language like 'cultural exchanges' and 'shared experience'. However, there are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'music their daily listening purpose' and 'any cultural people'. These errors do not impede communication, but they highlight a lack of precision. To improve, the student should focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb forms ('music can understood') and sentence construction ('the popularity of music... is increasing day by day'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentences are poorly formed, which affects the overall fluency. The student demonstrates an ability to construct complex ideas, but the lack of accuracy in basic grammar prevents a higher score.
