Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people nowadays tend to believe that music is the incredible path of bringing people of diverse cultures and ages together. I strongly agree with this statement, as through the music and the creator of the music support the fandom and fandom creates the sense of community. In addition, the lyrics of music is universal.
In the 21st century, fandom creates the sense of belongingness. Most of the artist are from different culture even from different nation. The performance of the artist on the stage make the fan to enjoy and chill with one another. For example, at the concert of K pop in various nation, brought all the fans regarding the age and culture together and they can enjoy the concert hooting over there.
The universalness of lyrics also tie the people together. Even the language barrier in music lyrics is universal, so most of the people used to listen the music even they do not now the meaning of the songs or music. For instance, in the context of Nepal, all the citizens are from different culture and linguistic background. Even though, all the music from Newari, Tamang, and Kirati are famous throughout the nation. Even, the youths and old age people used to sing the song although they do not have the idea of language.
In conclusion, music is considered as the captivating way to tie the people from diverse background in terms of age and culture. I also strong view on positive sides, as people are celebrating the music concerts together as well as they are using the music of different language by singing and listening due to its lyrics, Which obviously creates the sense of belongingness.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The ideas regarding fandoms and the universal nature of music are relevant and supported by examples, such as the K-pop concerts and the cultural context of Nepal. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited; the explanation of how music bridges age gaps is less detailed than the cultural aspect. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced analysis of why music specifically transcends these barriers, rather than just stating that it does. Overall, the response is well-focused and directly answers the question.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'In addition', 'For example', and 'In conclusion', to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are a bit abrupt, such as the shift from the general concept of fandoms to the specific example of K-pop. Improving the flow between sentences by using more varied linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'the music', 'the lyrics') is precise would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'diverse cultures', 'linguistic background', and 'captivating'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'incredible path of bringing', 'belongingness' (which is less standard than 'a sense of belonging'), and 'hoot over there'. Some phrases are slightly unnatural, such as 'the universalness of lyrics'. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and try to use more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally hinder the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Most of the artist are', 'the lyrics of music is'), missing articles ('at the concert of K pop'), and incorrect verb forms ('they do not now the meaning'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they are frequent enough to keep the score in the 6.0 range. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
