Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing how music brings people together across cultures and ages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention examples like 'Indian Idol' and 'Urban Chock', the connection between these examples and the core argument—how music specifically bridges cultural and generational gaps—is not fully explored. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and rely on repetitive phrasing. To improve, ensure each paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of 'how' and 'why' music acts as a social catalyst, rather than simply stating that events exist.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as using 'In addition' to start a paragraph that repeats similar points to the previous one. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences can be choppy. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a distinct focus would help the essay progress more smoothly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There is significant repetition of basic words like 'music', 'culture', and 'stress level'. Some collocations are unnatural, such as 'hustle and bustle life' (should be 'the hustle and bustle of life') and 'all ages people' (should be 'people of all ages'). To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more sophisticated vocabulary related to social cohesion and cultural exchange, and focus on correct word combinations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('professional singer sings', 'many culture event organized'), missing articles ('in fast-pace era'), and incorrect verb forms ('helps to bringing', 'go to there and listening'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly verb tenses and the correct use of prepositions and articles.
