Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people believe that music is a fantastic way of bringing population of various cultures, ages and traditions all together. I strongly agree with this particular notion due to the following stated facts and figures before citing reasonable conclusion.
Firstly, music is vastly available across the globe which helps people of the country to listen and feel the music made by people of other country and understand their culture and language. For example, technological improvement has allowed people to listen to different kinds of music with help of applications such as spotify and apple music. As a result people become able to connect and reach to the people of different traditions and practices.
Secondly, music has helped to eliminate generation gap by various means and to elaborate that nowadays children and their parents along with grandparents get together in parties and listen to music that is vintage as well as of brand new era. For instance, parents recommend music to their children and so do children. As a result generation gap is diminished and it becomes easier for the families to join together and enjoy.
However, people must keep in mind about what type of music are they playing or will play because there could be types of music that could only suit adults and could be harmful for children's mental health that will affect their social behavior.
In conclusion, it would not wrong to say that music has power to bring traditions and ages together due to its emotional and sentimental factors but like other things suitability of music could vary according to people and their thinking along with their age.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in the introduction and maintaining it throughout. The ideas regarding cultural exchange through global music access and the bridging of the generation gap are relevant and supported with examples like Spotify and family gatherings. However, the development is somewhat superficial; the points could be extended further with more depth or specific analysis. The inclusion of a counter-argument regarding the suitability of music is a good addition, though it is slightly disconnected from the main argument. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, a counter-argument/concession paragraph, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'For example', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions between sentences feel slightly repetitive. Referencing is generally clear, but the connection between the counter-argument paragraph and the preceding points could be smoother to improve the overall progression of the argument. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use a range of vocabulary, such as 'vintage', 'diminished', and 'sentimental factors'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are some instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'vastly available' instead of 'widely available' or 'made by people of other country' instead of 'other countries'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey meaning, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent minor errors in grammar and punctuation. For instance, there are missing articles ('of the country', 'of other country') and some awkward phrasing ('it would not wrong to say'). Subject-verb agreement and pluralization are occasionally inconsistent. Despite these errors, they do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, the writer should focus on improving the accuracy of articles and prepositions and incorporating more varied, error-free complex sentence structures.
