Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The essay addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which limits the depth of the arguments. While the ideas regarding language barriers and emotional connection are relevant, they are somewhat under-developed. The conclusion is brief and lacks a summary of the main points. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure that each paragraph provides a more thorough explanation of how music specifically bridges cultural and generational gaps. The under-length penalty is applied here as the response fails to meet the basic requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To commence with, the main of the reason why'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences is occasionally disjointed. While there is a logical progression, the lack of sophisticated linking words and the repetitive nature of some transitions hinder the overall coherence. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that your sentences flow naturally from one to the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive, with several word-choice errors that impede clarity, such as 'a effective way' (should be 'an effective way') and 'samilier' (spelling error). There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'genre' and 'traditions', but the range is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. Many phrases are awkward, such as 'make them with attractive aura'. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your vocabulary to include more precise collocations and ensure accurate word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure, such as 'people are enjoy a melody' and 'can't able to understand'. While there is an attempt at complex sentence structures, these are often faulty, leading to a lack of control over grammar. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically the use of auxiliary verbs and correct verb forms, before attempting more complex structures.
