Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position, but the development of ideas is limited. While you mention that music is a 'crucial factor' and a 'language of love', the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack specific, well-developed examples. The example regarding pregnancy is interesting but not fully connected to the core argument of bringing different cultures together. Furthermore, the essay falls one word short of the 250-word minimum requirement, which necessitates a penalty in this criterion. To improve, ensure that each paragraph introduces a distinct, fully supported point that directly relates to the prompt's focus on cultural and generational unity.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Another reason why I agree with music because it become...'. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the transition between the discussion of pregnancy and the broader claim about community. While the overall message is clear, the logical flow between sentences could be strengthened by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that referencing is precise throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You use some basic terms repeatedly, such as 'music' and 'agree'. There are also issues with word forms and collocations, for example, 'canas a medicine' (likely a typo) and 'unit several nationalities' (should be 'unite'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or less common lexical items limits the score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations and precise terminology would significantly enhance your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('several kinds of musics and song have been play') and tense inconsistencies ('when a woman specific listen music'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in sentence construction that impede the flow. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on mastering basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with verb tenses and pluralisation, while also attempting more complex sentence structures with greater control.
