Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is ongoing debate on whether that music is a positive aspect of upholding people of various culture and ages together. I firmly believe that music is an important factor that can bring individuals of different societies and generations on a platform however it should not be limited to specific music taste or culture which might create distance.
Efforts are being made to bring different kind of people at a platform, and music is making it possible. Musical concerts bring cultural exchange and act as communication string among multiple age groups. When cultural and amusements music are being played, people gather at one platform setting back the differences among them, leading to a combine program of acceptable to everyone. They dance and express feelings in their own way portraying cultural similarities and interests. For example, in musical concerts of Islamabad Arts Council, people attend belonging from Skardu to Karachi and child to grandfather join. Renowned singer Atif Aslam program is attended by individuals from all cultural and age groups.
The drawbacks appears when music is related to a specific culture, city, ethnic background and political. This leads people avoid musical programs and join broader background functions. Therefore, it is necessary to keep in mind the general audience preferences. For example, Balochi nationalist musical programs are hated by individuals from Punjab while when GB music is played, everyone stands and starts dancing.
In conclusion, music plays an important role in collecting people from various culture and age groups however while arranging, we must not forget collective preferences of music. The music collectively represents aspects of cultural and generational harmony.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position that music acts as a bridge between cultures and ages, provided it remains inclusive. The ideas are relevant, and the use of specific examples, such as the Islamabad Arts Council and the mention of Atif Aslam, helps to support the argument. However, the development is somewhat uneven. The second paragraph is well-supported, but the third paragraph regarding the drawbacks of specific cultural music is slightly underdeveloped and relies on generalizations about audience preferences. To reach a higher band, you should expand on why certain types of music might be exclusionary and provide more nuanced analysis of how music can overcome these barriers.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used effectively to separate the benefits of music from the potential drawbacks. Cohesive devices are present, such as 'For example,' 'Therefore,' and 'In conclusion,' which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the phrase 'communication string' is an awkward collocation that disrupts the flow. Overall, the progression of ideas is clear, and the essay maintains a consistent focus on the topic throughout.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'generational harmony' and 'cultural exchange.' However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and awkward phrasing, such as 'upholding people of various culture,' 'communication string,' and 'collecting people.' Additionally, there are minor errors in word form, such as 'amusements music' instead of 'amusement music.' To improve, focus on using more natural collocations and ensuring that word forms are used correctly in context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'whether that music is,' 'different kind of people at a platform,' and 'drawbacks appears.' There are also issues with article usage and pluralization, such as 'various culture' instead of 'various cultures.' While the errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the accuracy of basic sentence construction and subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the quality of the writing.
